I had some awkward communication delay when getting a Jinmenken(the dog/human) from him, but he came through and apologized and eventually I received the piece. I’d say be patient, but I also couldn’t agree with @3wing more. Follow your gut. Always. Also, what @kid_miracleman said.
I'm not voting in this because this is more nuanced than "is he bad at managing e-mails" vs. "did he rob me". Any feedback anyone gives you on this is pretty damn subjective and open to interpretation. I've known makers who get screwed by the post office, by the factory, by customs, etc. and that's why toy X wasn't ready in time. I've known artists who had serious physical injuries or illnesses come up that screw them up. And I've also known people who have made a reputation screwing over others and it takes a while before they are effectively blacklisted from the vets in the scene. That being said, you just have to determine what you are okay with. My recommendation would be figure that out and put a line in the sand that when that when that time comes, you issue a PayPal dispute and you have evidence to back up your claim. Of course, assume that if you do that you've burned that bridge, but if someone can't be bothered to give you what you paid for, who cares?
Never heard of 'em but hit him with a Paypal claim if you feel like he's dicking around. It might light a fire under his ass and force him to respond and send the item or, if not, you get your £££ back quicker (Paypal give the seller a week or two leeway to respond, which in an age of such immediate response/communication seems like an eternity of just waiting for nuthin').
Was the payment thru Paypal? If so, was it a friends and family payment? Friends and family doesn't carry any options to file a dispute against Item not received. If the payment was for goods and service then you have 180 days or 6 months to file a claim. Check your transaction page and you'll find more info there.
Maybe it's because I'm an impatient old fart . . . but fuck 6 months! If dude has dragged his ass on responding to emails for 2 weeks I'd be claiming! If it's a friends and family payment, consider it a lesson learned!

You commissioned a 1-off, and Expected it done in 2 weeks. I don’t do commissions because I don’t want to be on other people’s timelines. But the few times I have, sometimes people have waited for months and months and been ok with that. Not saying this guy operates like me. But considering you are asking for paintwork and not just asking him to ship a blank. Maybe give him a little more time.
Communication is key. Its been 3 and a half years and I'm still waiting for the sculptor to finish my sculpt.
I'll be honest, I don't think you're gonna last if you are brand new here and in less than a week you're already posting threads like this. I bet every single person here has waited months or even years for pieces that cost way more at some point. If all the other artists you have purchased from you've been happy with, and this is the one guy that has pissed you off enough to make this thread, then you don't need to ask us what you should do since you already know what you want.
I’ve known Jorge for a minute and have dealt with him both buying his toys, as well as shooting his toys for photo “work”. He’s definitely a good dude and not at all one to rip someone off. He’s posted such things I’m about to say publicly before, so I don’t think I’m going too off the railing, but he has moments of personal crisis on occasion, which could play into it. I’ve messaged him with prints I made of his toys to ship to him and it took him weeks to get me his address. And this was something he essentially commissioned me to do. I sincerely hope he reaches out to you soon. I know when it comes to both time and monies for a commission it’s easy to have concerns arise, but he’s far from a bad seed in my opinion/experience.
That’s genuinely disappointing for me to hear of Jorge, considering my dealings with him, as well as testament for him here. Unfortunate circumstances, but I am glad you were able to secure your funds back.
