I really came to love the Gargamel Fight later in my collecting but now that I have I can honestly say that I prefer them to the SB roster (Pus aside of course) I can never have to many Bull Masks Gargadeaths or Wheelbarrows. That said I am always down to Fuck with an AstroBrain lol
@hellopike Thanks, Phil!!! I have to say that’s my favorite of the bunch, as well. That blue base is just so damn nice! And I love that the belt is the same color! @coma21 I didn’t pay *that* much attention to Ggml fighters until 2015. I had two or three in 2013, but they were kinda buried in the shelf. But I saw them everywhere in Japan, and for crazy cheap, so I picked up a bunch, and that’s where I really started to appreciate ‘em. As it stands, I do think I appreciate them as a fight figure almost more than Secret Base myself. But I can’t swear by that just yet!
You should tell Hiddy that the next time you’re in Japan . . . I’m sure he’ll have a chuckle and buy you a beer!
I’ll gladly take a coffee instead. Maybe if he started making new production run Skull Brains and Bees I’d be a little more persuaded.
Beautiful photos as always Robert. I just adore these two! I really want to track down this brown guy, getting into fight characters lately has been such a joy for me. The thrill of the hunt is also back, ironically for our pulling to bring the “boom” back
View this post on Instagram These guys are my favorite fight duo rn. Pretty honored to own both of them. Like three different people here helped make it happen. S/o 2 them!
I’m personally not a fan of the Hevi or its arms, but that particular release is so on a class of its own. As is that Kumon.
This guy is release I never saw previously. As far as I can tell it dates back to at least 2012. The name on the header is URA-SECRETBASE GHOST 2nd GEAR “狂都” The sheet looks like it is black vinyl painted a nearly matte white. The splatter is glossy black. I know the 2nd version Ghost sheet wasn’t as well received as the 1st version, but I really like the stark contrasting colorway.
That’s so damn fanciful lookin’. Painting the base a matte color would make sense, because once you get the molds to an altered stage where they can produce matte finish based figures I’m not sure the process can be reversed. Love the look, though. And against the green background it stands out amazingly! Really lovin’ bling eyes, too!
Thanks Robert, I’m enjoying it, and I’m finding it pairs up nicely with the “Why So Serious” Obake release which is also a “2nd gear” sheet with bling eyes, just in bright colors and the mixed blue glow/white DBM skullbrain with black splatter... I think there is a version of that release with gem eyes, but I’m not 100% sure. I’ll have to snap some more pictures...
LOVE that business card!! Is it cardboard or steel? EDIT: Nevermind, saw the other post in the Secret Base thread. Still awesome.
Great video, Glenn! Love it Did you shoot VHS-C or MiniDV and record it off of a TV screen again or did you get the busted tape scanned, or is it all distortion/noise effects?
