Something about the metallic deep forest green always had me thinking of wooden mallards in some moneyed dude's smoking parlor. Nice setup, Patrick! Has me rethinking my glow divestment from a few years ago, not that it's not too late, heh. Your commitment to squeezable Antlars gives me hope for the world.
Took the boys out for an end-of-summer ride. There's actually a raised section on my roof with a slope down, and a slightly raised edge that could act like a ramp at speed. You have no idea how badly I wanted to send one of these flying down that thing
1974 メガロゴジ MegaroGoji A custom '74 with classic gojira colors by an unknown artist. This is actually painted on one of the flesh vinyl blanks. If anybody knows the painter, please attribute them here. Although this was described as a M1GO test paint, it is unsigned, and I'm not convinced it was painted by Nishimura-san. Either way, I enjoy how it looks.
^ Pretty spectacular looking coverage for a potentially fake Yujispritz! Mind taking a snap of the chompers for us? And did they leave the soles of his stompers unpainted? I always love that trick!
The eyes and teeth are one of the reasons why I believe it was painted by somebody else. They don't seem to be up to M1GO standards, and are not a direct match for how this sculpt is typically painted (silver on teeth and eyes fully painted): Also, the bottom of the feet are covered with blue paint.
Some of my M1 toys on their shelf. The GMK Godzilla is my favorite Godzilla sculpt of all time and my second favorite M1 sculpt only being edged out by the Gargantuas set.
Amazing stuff, Joe!! Gorgeous shelves, and yes, I wholly agree with you on those Gargantuas. I still need to find the GID pair to complete my collection. Funny story, I was just going to buy that little dino dude a few days ago, ahaaha. Just thought about it a few moments too long in the end. I don't know what the story is, but his appearance and caveman attire immediately called out to me. I really love him, and he looks great with your impressive collection. That little red Hedo is something, too!
I think I beat you to the punch on the little Dino, because that was probably the same one from Mandarake, I also have 0 clue about him but he is so fun and goofy (and was so cheap) I pulled the trigger.
Love love LOVE the GMK sculpt. On my list, it's 2nd only to the M1 Jet Jaguar sculpt. My first was the GID; picked it up at M1's booth at G-FEST two years ago and have been hooked on it ever since. I've got this weird thing about the colorways, though...my favorites of the GMK sculpt are by far the lighter ones; the flesh blank, the GID release, the blue, and definitely that GORGEOUS 'Vinyl Wars' release in the photo. The sculpt itself is so massive, the darker colors almost make it feel...I don't know...too heavy? Not sure exactly what it is. Finally found the light-blue-on-flesh lottery figure recently for a decent price. It's hella pretty.
