This is actually what I am telling myself and thus I never had the temptation to paint any sofubis and thus ruin them.
I wish more people would behave the same :)

Also, being a big fan of M1, it's really hurting to see some paint schemes that just don't fit with the shape or spirit of the maker. Yuji has a very nice minmalist paint scheme, nothing like the rainbow scheme.

Marmite is great but I don't think anyone should be forced to try it, true. I'm not going to get into the marmite vs. vegemite wars.

Well, you can find £1 pot of Marmite at some shops, definitely worth a try I would say :)

Three people said they didn't like your paint work on one toy. On a forum with many hundreds if not thousands of members. In a thread with over 160 pages.

    Just THREE people.

    Just ONE toy.

    You are being fucking silly.

Skullbrain didn't attack you. Imaginary gatekeepers didn't cancel you off the interwebs. Three fucking people is not enough for you to declare that you have "haters" and go to facebook to tell everyone that SB is shitting on you. It's just not true at all. Skullbrain didn't do a goddamn thing to you. Three people didn't like something you painted.

    Your overreaction is astounding.

I would also like to point out that i did'nt shit on his 'Return of the Kaiju Sommelier paint fun!' thread, where the ruined toy was originally posted. I brought it here out of respect - and then shat on it.

Yeah I mean to be honest. I love anraku ansaku but his paint application on Garachion is attrocious. I wouldn't buy it because of it. But others might love it. When you throw art out there, it's open to criticism. Idk...if I made a toy or painted a toy that I liked and only one person in the world liked...that's a win. Tantrums just make people seem silly.

If you are going for fugliest this is pretty close. Small wonder why MVH refuses to do open runs...

Jeez, that thing is just gnarly and grimey. Not in a good way. I’m pretty sure I’ll get COVID if I make eye contact with it for too long.

Maybe it's old shtick to hate on Ron English (and maybe I shouldn't even bring it up here, since his toys are a different style of vinyl), but I keep getting emails about this "lady lips" thing, and it just makes me feel dirty all over.

Luckily people don't mail me about this kinda... stuff so I had to look it up myself. I'll just leave this here (1:40 is particularly golden):

    "...masterpiece..."

"The Lady Lips is basically the image that's gonna keep me in the game for ten more years!"

^^ Fucking hell, that is a load of shite. I've seen cheap car-paint graffiti tags done with more artistry than that. He's kidding himself if he thinks that is a 'masterpiece', i actually feel sorry for him if he genuinely thinks that.

unfortunately there are people who do/will to validate his thoughts.

I can’t stand his work, but there are people who think the same about whatever it is that you or I collect.

Absolutely. I own two different sized MC Supersized figures and the GID Rabbbit thing ... but IMO the Popaganda style became tired and repetitive. I'd say Kaws slapping X's on everything is very similar ...

That is something. I like that he is calling it a masterpiece. Way to go Ron!
I don’t think it’s fair to compare his Popaganda art to Kaws X. Ron isn’t only putting grins on whatever pop thing he sees, he did the Temper Tot lil dude, the masked Mickey, many I am forgetting, and now this weird take on the Hot Lips logo. In my opinion that is more creative.

No, but everything he does is appropriating someone else's character or design. I don't care if its still considered 'subversive' or whatever. Tell ya what Ron, come up with something 'Iconic' on your own, there's an idea.
