Nice to hear, and I appreciate this as someone with family spread all over the globe. Still, makes me a bit indignant that after all the suffering of the pandemic, the final state will be Pfizer making money hand over fist.

With the constant worry this pandemic has brought to our lives, I think whoever makes money is not much of any concern to me when it means saving those in our lives that are most at risk.

Shit, I'd give all I have right now just to make sure my own half a world away are safe. Money be damned

2020 has taken a lot and no price is too much anymore

So, it’s Thanksgiving! Hope you are all having as best a day as possible. It can be hard to not spend time with family on a very family-oriented holiday.... I’m sure a lot of you have had to sacrifice this day to keep your family safe. I think that’s what Thanksgiving is all about this year, being thankful for health.

This Thanksgiving we aren’t doing anything different from any other day. My sister is coming on Saturday after a quarantine, and we’re celebrating on Sunday instead. No other family members. We’re actually thrilled we can’t have more guests, my aunt and my uncle always fight about something whenever they’re invited to our house. It’s going to just be our nuclear family eating some good food.

I burned some Ellio's pizzas to a crisp and put hot mustard from the Chinese restaurant on top. It's awesome.

The UK has become the first country in the world to approve the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine, paving the way for mass vaccination.

Britain's medicines regulator, the MHRA, says the jab, which offers up to 95% protection against Covid-19 illness, is safe to be rolled out.

The first doses are already on their way to the UK, with 800,000 due in the coming days, Pfizer said.

Crazy amount of vaccine news today. U.K. approves Pfizer for public. Pfizer and Moderna both seeking US emergency approval in the next couple weeks (which will both more than likely get it) and we still have Johnson & Johnson & AstraZeneca. Putin wants large scale vaccinations starting next week. I think we are still in the shit for the next 6-9 months at earliest but maybe we can get this under control. I’m planning on riding Pirates of the Caribbean for my 40th bday in Jan 2022

US FDA approval review of Pfizer on Dec 10th, Moderna on Dec 17th. I have no idea why I know this. Canada, with population of 37M, bought 40 million doses of Moderna's. Dunno what that's about, but presumable it's 2 doses per person, then it's for 20M ppl. Due for distribution in early '21.
Even with all this, it's projected that most of those that are not in danger, like 65 & over, or front line workers etc. are gonna start getting the 1st 20M Pfizer (+Moderna?) doses by Dec-Jan-Feb in the US alone.
Consequently, full protective inoculation will take some time, just in North Americas and Europe alone. Then there's the Russian, Chinese and other vaccine efforts. If you're in Cuba, you too might have a chance to survive this. Poorer countries will have to shop around and see who gives them the best deal, should they care about their populace.
It's gonna be a while before your globally accepted vaccination card is in the mail.
And remember, a vaccine is about stopping the spread in those that don't already have it. As the immune response is only for when the real thing shows up. But. And it's a big but. Community spread is prevalent the world over. 65M+ registered cases, but likely 5X 10X in reality. Consider what it will take to figure if you should get the vaccine in order to prevent you from getting the real thing. Or do you just go wasting doses on people who unknowingly had it? Not sure how this works.

I can’t remember where I read it, but some medical guy said that vaccines likely won’t be available for the general public until second quarter 2021. I really hope that’s not true. The last time I saw my boyfriend was late February, and my stupid town is a “red alert” town again... So tired of people who aren’t taking this seriously.

Our neighbors decided to be idiots and invited the kids’ grandparents over for Thanksgiving. A few days later they find out that one of the kids was exposed to a teacher who tested positive. That means that everyone there on Thanksgiving Day was potentially exposed. WHY WOULD YOU RISK KILLING YOUR PARENTS?!? Why are people like this?! Is skipping Thanksgiving one year so awful? How can you ignore the risk of a family member getting sick, or even dying?

I’m so sick of this. I’m so sick of PEOPLE.

Ya'll should come visit Orange County some time. A whole lotta rudimentary kin there. I recently had the pleasure of running into a woman who had her mask off while in the shop. I politely asked her if she would put it on and she pulled it up just to cover her mouth. Last I checked, ones nose is still an access point to ones respiratory system. So, I gestured her to pull it up over her nose. I was countered with "Go to Hell!" She then went to the back of the store, pulled her mask off and then like a five year old child, stuck her tongue out and made a sophomoric facial expression at me.

I laugh (and did laugh) because you can't reason with ignorance. I have considered purchasing a taser

I read an article about mask where the journalist said:
if you wear a mask over your mouth and nose, you believe in science
if you wear a mask over your mouth only, you don't believe in science
if you wear a mask below your chin, you believe in magic

    So f...ing true IMO.

I've been seeing way too many face shield with no mask people as of late. Feels like that's no different than chin diaper, and dick nose people.

Now that the vaccines are about to begin rolling out, the mask problem won't be the only issue troubling all of these stable geniuses...

First people vaccinated in the U.K. Landmark moment in the pandemic. 91 year old Margaret Keenan was the first person to receive the Pfizer vaccine followed by 81 year old, William Shakespeare. My grandmother just turned 100, I hope she can get it sooner than later. And if you think it’s a waste of a vaccine for my 100 year old grandmother to take, you can fuck off. That’s all I’ve seen today “why are we vaccinating old people?” Ya, why would we vaccinate the people that are dying in droves. Fucking idiots. Obviously I’m triggered or whatever the term is so I’m going to drink a coffee and smoke a joint.

Front line medical workers, and the elderly should absolutely be the first to get the vaccine.

The same people who screech about Benghazi, All Lives Matter, and abortion seem to forget the value of a human life quite easily.

Of course your grandmother should be one of the first in line. I hope she lives another 100 years. I'm being serious btw. Ridiculous, as if the elderly don't have a right to further their lives because of their age. The fact that I'm even bothering to comment is utterly ridiculous.

Except, I think the coffee x joint mix cancels each other out...

Coffee is fantastic with weed. Not currently smoking, but when I am a bowl and cup of coffee combo on a Saturday/Sunday morning is the ant's pants.
