I bought a few collections when i was a kid, so maybe nostalgia is a factor, but I just find his facial expressions hilarious. Still do.
I have a big hardback collection called 'The world of Charles Addams'. Published in the UK by Hamish Hamilton 1992 and in the US by Alfred A. Knopf Inc. Most of the stuff in it is from the New Yorker, its a lovely collection. Admittedly I'd rather have a dedicated Addams Family collection.
I've got a whole bunch of Zippy the Pinhead stuff. I remember reading them for the first time, they blew me away. He's so original and really stands out from other, more typical underground comix.

Still seems crazy to me that Zippy ended up as a daily strip in mainstream newspapers, and that that's been true for over 40 years! I can't think of another legit underground guy that's had anything like that kind of exposure or platform. Pretty great.

    ooo

Since the page just flipped, don't forget to check out Fanta's current sale, or their upcoming ersatz comic con panels.

    As long as I'm here...

Ripping off the shrink-wrap on this beautiful hardback, and i've just found the 3-D glasses. Pure pleasure.

This is sadly the last of the series and the last ever major work by either Moore or O'Neill (or so they say). I've loved every densely packed page of League over the years, and also enjoyed the 'Nemo' spin-off trilogy ....

Meant to post about this almost four years ago ---

It was with great confusion and sadness when I noticed that my favorite comic of 2006...
...had somehow come out the other side of the webgrinder, a decade later, as...
...the very figurehead of hate and vileness. Poor Pepe!

The net was all over it, 'both' sides, but my favorite breakdown of the horrifying phenomenon was on the Reply All podcast, which is what I planned to link to in that post I never made.

Jumping forward, I was tipped to this happy surprise late last year:

'Praps a few of you would like to join me in pre-order breath holding. Is it September yet?

Anyway, Matt Furie did and does rule, and if it's not on your shelf already, you should totally consider picking up the new printing of the collected adventures of Pepe, Landwolf, Brett and Andy from Fanta or wherever.

    Good times guaranteed.

Ah, almost forgot - odd that the film poster wasn't done by Matt...

...but you could do way worse than having Benjamin Marra as your surrogate.

    End of transmission.

The Addams Family: An Evillution, published by Pomegranate in 2010.

It has every appearance of a family member that saw print, and 50some more that never did! A complete collection in all but name.

I found four little gems today, all for £2 each ... which was nice.

'Black Blizzard' by Yoshihiro Tatsumi (I already have it, possible Xmas present for my bruv. Couldn't leave it on the shelf for that price, its killer).

'Alias the Cat' by Kim Deitch (Not familiar but it looks great.)

'Death Rattle' No.12 - Kitchen sink comix (natch)

'Space Dog' - Hendrik Dorgathen. (This one got a hoot from me, been searching for this one for a fair price for a long time. Finally scored one in pristine condition (1993). No words, just eye boggling 50's style graphical adventure story telling.

For no particular reason, but at least reminds me that Marvel wasn't always just a corporate machine.

    Yule Bringer by Adam Higton
10 years ago I got this "abstract" comic as a freebie with some other goodies I bought from eminent publishers Landfill Editions. Given it's yule tide theme I keep it with my Holiday decorations and look through it around this time each year. Long out of print, I post it here in it's entirety, but if that seems overly generous of me on the creators behalf let me know and I can take it down.

Welcome friends to a World of Magick!

This book contains 70+ drawings made over the course of a year and which formed part of Adam’s first solo show at Analogue Books In Edinburgh.

The works invoke a wide variety of Forest Folke, Dandy Demons, and Christmas Characters, Haunted Hippy Communes come and go and Woodland Wanderers wander about in a jovial fashion.

Each copy of the book ordered directly from Landfill includes an A5 2 colour Risograph mini print.

Blogs are cool and all, and who among us hasn't leaned on a wiki or two to try to suss out the details, but I know I'm not the only one who's missed the papery thrill of a hold-it-in-your-own-hands bona fide fanzine! The kind where you can't learn whatever you want, whenever you want to, but you get a deeeep dive into whatever's been sticking in their craw... Or the even rarer kind where all the articles are gold...

Folks, if you didn't know it, they're back!

There are a whole mess of new mainstream flops out there now that I fully sign off on.

    Even weirder?
