Thanks @Kuolio ! I don't know anything about this band, but that is a pretty cool set to make, and I of course love the lucky bag idea and those jumpsuits. I wonder if he did this as a far, or commission, or what exactly? I do love to see this diversity of the stuff Oohashi-san puts his creative talents to, even when it doesn't always fall within my personal purview of things - it isn't about that [me], which is a concept some fans seem to really struggle with.
Looks like the 10 piece blind bag figures are out! Search on #butanohana on Instagram for more photos... August 2020 Post by b_dai.777 (thank you for sharing!)
Wow! I didn't realise how vibrant these would be. Even more impressive if the paints on each sculpt are a random selection, as they gel so well as a group.
Seeing the photos of these is even more crushing for the majority of us who had almost no shot at them.
^^^True Stevie, and increasingly so because of Keynesian economics But, Mr. O's heart is in the right place, he creates fantastic toys and prices them fairly, it's the after market that makes it crazy Ok, looks like there are lots of color variations. Not surprised by this auction for the Japanese band. retail was 500.00 Packaging was really well done. Would love to see more bands being done.
Truly a high Sugoi! factor. If you break the pricing down per figure, and compare it with what Buta are going for nowadays, it's definitely not surprising. The packaging, cloth bags, super detailed costumes, and the actual toys are wonderfully conceptualized and executed by Mr. O. They really belong in a box with the same art, except lacquerware. p.s. Thank you Bryce for capturing the photos!
Nice to see the G-series returning in Halloween version. I think there are 2 sets. Looks like a lot is available too, which is great!
Here they are! Just posted to his blog. Set contains 14 pieces. Unfortunately after market pricing is around $315 for the full set ......very upsetting Good luck to whoever gets them at retail
Buta Gargamel "Zokki Kaiju" Lucky Bag sneak peek! Posted by zenraaa on Instagram *THANK YOU Zenraaa for sharing your photo! Posted by oha0884 on Instagram *Book and GID figures confirmed by oha0884 on IG! *THANK YOU oha0884 for sharing your photos! Hot diggity doggies! Figures are GID! I love the fact that Mr. Ohashisan is using fabric as a medium for his art. Looks like for each snazzy cloth lucky bag (you can cut out and sew the critter to make a soft toy!!! ), you get a book, button, and a full size figure! Wahoooo! p.s. I think Mr. O's Lucky Bags really makes you relive what childhood was like, when you got that special toy that your parents let you pick out at the dime store (yes, some of us are really that old! ). These lucky bags are filled with the little extras, book (remember those tiny paper comic books that fit into a child's hands perfectly?) and button pin (something to wear on your favorite puffy kid's jacket), the sort of tiny surprises that spark that extra sense of joy in tiny tots. And, the interactive nature of making an extra toy from a cut-out paper stencil, is duplicated by leaps and bounds with the beautifully printed cotton fabric. Mr. O has really outdone himself, and set the bar higher when it comes to Lucky "Bags"!
