Well played! The Medieval Market Village might be my favorite town set that I've seen. I resisted getting last year when I was hunting the last Harry Potter Hogwart's Express. I'm saving all the HP stuff until my boy is old enough to start reading the series. Then we can start building the world.
S'pose this could go just as well in the Pacific Rim thread, or in the PR toys dicussion, but anyways, these are fantastic. Giant monsters just scream to be created out of Lego to terrorize the brick world. Really some fantastic detail in these and subtle touches that make it that much better, you can see a lot of thought went in to them. (click to embiggen pics) More pics of Lego 'verses over on Olive Seon's photostream. You can probably recognise the set up and build aesthetic from the Mothra diorama.
I just got a coupon for a free mini build-a-pack with purchase of $25 or more. The trick is it can only be traded in at a Lego Store (not online) and we moved pretty far from them. Let me know if you'd like it.
Triple posting... But these are going to be great! They embody the essence of Lego, I believe: to make some whatever shapes with whatever parts you have. The true spirit of DIY. I mean, a FIRETRUCK ROBOT! ICECREAM PLANE! Nice. Complete list here: http://www.brickset.com/browse/themes/?theme=The LEGO Movie (minus the minifigs who will be sold separately as blind bags)
looking forward to the movie, its going to be fantastic. and who doesn't want a transformable ice cream truck!!!
Not actually sure if it will be transformable or not... But cool nonetheless! There's a 50% off sale at TrU till the 23rd on some very nice sets. I'm actually looking for someone to pick two up for me ship them to the great white north. In-store only so I'm sort of helpless... Pm me if you think you can help?
alright Pet, i'll go check it out. What are you looking for? My closest TrU get picked over pretty good but its worth a look.
I actually don't care much about the Simpsons house, especially given its price point will be what, $300 or so? The characters also look weridish... Still hoping for some Adventure Time sets though...
according for MTV it will be 199.99 and I dig it, i've missed out on most of the Simpsons toys and i'm going all in on this one.
they just announced the ghostbusters 30th (!) anniversary set. very excited. no firehouse building, unfortunately, but that means it'll be affordable at least. i hope ecto-1 and the minifigs turn out better than the simpsons. on a side note: anyone else giggle a little at the way "kuusoo" sounds like kuso (くそ)?
Yeah, before I saw it spelled, I wondereed what they were thinking. Movie in a few days! I'm as excited as the kids!
I'm in and I usually don't do Lego. I prefer the building/ architecture releases over the other series....
My dad worked for Lego back in the early 80's and my brother works for Lego now, so i have always had a healthy supply of Lego (I have some pretty cool prototype items from the early 80's). Also, my brother made me these (Since im a big fan of the old TMNT and Lego):
Holy Cow those TMNT villians are awesome! The Turtles would be great if they were all in red like the old mirage comics... That being said, I am Super excited for this set, just debuted today at toyfair: Cyclops and Storm! (hopefully we get a white mohawk at some point for her) And Wolverine finally gets his mask! Yes! Magneto is a neat nod to the 80's, but I would have prefered a different villain. Sabretooth, Mystique, Apocalypse, Mr Sinister, Juggernaut, etc... But masked wolverine! yes!
I thought I'd share : ) http://www.metalsucks.net/2014/03/19/heavy-metal-legos/ http://www.buzzfeed.com/lukelewis/22-ic ... ed-in-lego
I've seriously been on a Lego kick as of late. I blame my kids. I got lego Digital Designer, that thing will suck all your time up but man oh man is it fun to build with unlimited bricks. Not to mention you can then get a list of all the used parts in your design and them order them. AND create a PDF of the instructions. Good times.
Lego have really stepped up their game over the last 6 years - i find myself tempted to buy new sets all the time. My brother (Who works at Lego) got me the Back To The Future DeLorean a few weeks ago - i really like it. Its got this DIY-vibe going (Something that it have actually been critized for)... also their Expert Creator town sets are just amazing!!
