This was a really strange find on ebay. From what little information i could find on these, they are characters on a japanese show from 1960, and three little pigs are called Boo, Foo and Woo. Would like thank Spacemonkey66 for posting pictures and sharing his knowledge on these vinyls. Without seeing his posts, im not sure i would have even known what i was looking at.
Great find! I have seen those for sale in Japan, and I'm not sure what you paid, but they are considerably pricey, so I am sure you probably got a decent bargain right there. The wolf in pinata is expecially cool.
AWESOME! amazing find! would never have thought that this could ever surface on ebay. conditions of the dolls looks mint!!!
An indication as to the rarity of this set: Whilst the listed price is excessive here, I have seen it sell for well over 100,000YEN on YJA. The set was also once featured on the cover of this collectors magazine a few years back:
I had to google jellycake because i had no idea what it was, but it looks good! Thanks for all the extra info spacemonkey, as i really didnt know what a set like this would go for.
Wow! Congrats on the wolf, I've always loved this set. So he likes beck, huh! And also... wow! you have three Ilu Ilu wrestling sets.
The "modern gang" looks about ready to jump over the table and start a barroom brawl (they must not care for Beck too much )... Great score and pic Spamper, thanks for posting. *I highly recommend Mr. Wolf and other fans give "Morning Phase" a listen if they haven't yet. Good stuff
The depth of knowledge on this forum constantly surprises me. Also common on SB, the ability to make me go from "never heard of it" to "sweet whispering Jesus! NEED!" Simply by looking at a photo.
Well done Samper on acquiring the elusive wolf! Here's a little youtube video showing some of the original props and merchandise: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faIobpCKdFY
