    Re: Butanohana Database

We should definitely include the Omakes! Especially since this is going to be a database. Didn't the little car come with Chibura (the squid head with grandpa sweater and human body)? Not sure, but I'm sure there is someone out there who can confirm!

Thanks for the photos jcat, smo9monster, and Nate, I added them!

Lixx, I can send you the posting text (with htmls) so that you don't have to relink the photos. Just send me your email, and I'll send you the text (I didn't want to steal the list away from you  )

Any other Omakes we haven't listed?

    Excellent compilation, Chris!

I'm not sure how best to add to the list. Maybe we can add the items on our post and Chris could cut and paste to his list?

On King Joe, there're a few variation on the flying saucer waist attachment. There's orange, purple and GID.

You guys can PM me any changes you want to add and I'll be sure to update them. Trying to keep the variants (i.e. colors) listed in italics for easier reading. I'll definitely credit everyone with adds to the list. It's looking good. Also spoke to Chris from Grumble Toy and he ok'd me on using the Grumble Toy pics for visual reference. I have a Grab program on my iMac so I'll grab them and upload them sometime today or tonight. Chris also let me know via internet wayback some pics of the omake. Again thanks to everyone on the input, this might end up one of the better database here with visual reference.

We all do D No... I think about when I first got into this hobby how Butanohana routinely sat around Grumble Toy, man for a long time the Dino's were readily available on S7 cheaply. Anyone remember that M-78? site (in Japan) that had just about any piece you could think of for 2000-3000 yen??? Ughhhhh such regret, almost as much regret as I had for not bidding on the Blue Kong on YJA back in Dec 2008, which was the last time I saw one show up and I check every day at least twice a day.

I'm working guys. It's going to take some time. Doesn't help that hockey is on right now and my g/f wants some downtime with me. Check out page one for a preview of what's to come with a fan favorite Mefilas. Looks good right? I'm snagging, converting, uploading, and doing a lot of cut n' paste code..... ;) After it's all done we can at least see what we need solid pics of- which I'm quite sure between everyone here we'll capture all of them. Good thing is I don't have to leave the house till 1pm tomorrow so it will be done by then. Keep checking for updates.

    Re: Butanohana Database

OK might call it quits for the night, did a bunch today. Still have a ton of pics to upload and code into the thread, will continue tomorrow morning.

Here's the thing for me (and I'm sure others):

I'd like to make it as uniform as possible, so I'd love to use the original Butanohana photos whenever possible. I used a bunch today (thanks to way back machine) but unfortunately I never saved all of them (and alot came up as ? on the old site). So if you see me upload something and the pic next to it looks smaller, i.e: Blue/Cream Eleking, Pink M1Go and you have the original pic please feel free to pm it to me here so I can insert it. After I finish off what I have tomorrow morning, we can clearly see what is needed and go from there. Maybe people who have original pics can pm me (after tomorrow morning) and if all else fails maybe people can take full on frontal shots against white background like the original Butanohana pics if they have the figure.

Hope you like it I'm proud of this... oh and Mr Humphreys I will definitely adjust the catalog/dates as soon as I finish the pic upload process. ;)

Thank you again Lixx, for your great ideas, dedication, and a lot of work! It's come a LONG way in such a short time! The pics are also fun and interesting to see. The variety of Mr. Buta's creations are wonderful! This is going to be one humdinger of a database, and lots of collectors out there will be drooling soon
...well ok, they've already started drooling ;)

    Re: Butanohana Database

OK I've pretty much exhausted my Butanohana pics. So now it's up to you guys in toyland. Try to get me original saved Butanohana pics or pics of the toy against white background. Here's what we definitely need:

Alien Zarab & Mini (all versions)
Godzilla 66 Blue version (and pics of the mini Raydon?)
Godzilla 62- sent a pm to Dikasaur to see if he could take a pic of all three against a white background
    Hayabusa Red & grey version
    Kanegon- Green
King Joe- Black come on Choon! ;)
Kong- Painted GID, Paint GID Red/Blue, Green Kong- looking at jefftallica! ;)
    M1Go- Red
    Magila-Red
    Pigmon (all versions)
Red King- (any of the Yellow vinyl versions)
Thundermask- Green version (could use a better pic of the GID version also)
    Ultraman LightBlue/Red version

Some of the other figures I have and will try to get pics of soon.

Also a special FU to Flickr for their stupid trackback code which made this job much harder than it should have been! Like old school Flickr.

Just used this database today to refer someone to one of the figures. It's not just for drooling! :D

Gotta echo what others are saying, great work Chris (and others involved).

Never knew there were two types of Baltan heads. Crazy.

I have a green Kanegon but no camera so I am useless...

    Re: Butanohana Database

Thanks Joe I'll put some of those in as place holders. I know technically that particular Thrashman is sculpted by Butanohana but wasn't really sure whether to add it it since I was trying to make this a strictly Butanohana Database when Gargamel released them? Does that make sense? Big thanks to Dikasaur for the perfect 62 Goji shot. Thanks for the accolades guys, I'm really glad I was pushed to include pics. A visual database is so much nicer to look at :)

Oh so is the red/light blue ultraman version the one that was released at the Gargamel event? So there is no fake ultraman in red/ lightblue. Should the fake ultraman just be with the others or is it a different sculpt? Eyes look a little different.

    Re: Butanohana Database

Technically, the Gargamel release is a "fake" Ultraman sculpt because the eyes are more slanted and pointy. But Gargamel did not paint the black stripes on the front. I guess they were putting a twist on that release. Maybe we should classify it as Gargamel Ultraman?

Coming along nicely, Chris. Great job, mate!
