I guess it depends what other types of nerdy stuff you're into. I'm not sure how big of a kaiju presence there will be there, though.
I'm going and I'm not that into comics anymore. But Kevin Conroy is going to be there and I'm gonna see if I can get the Batman or Capt Sunshine to leave a voicemail message for me. Hell I went to WizardWorld one year and met Space Ghost (one of the best nerd moments of my life).
I'm going Sat for sure. See some of you d00dz there. I hope it's good, has a solid guest list and is being presented by a legit group, the NYCC folks.
Yeah, if it wasn't the NYCC guys I probably wouldn't be going. But so far I have not been disapointed in the line up. I really hope Team Venture is there though. They seem to go to every convention to give smart ass replies to nerd boy questions.
I'm honestly really looking forward to it. I went to NYCC last year and it was really well done. I'm going to be super busy with all of the stuff we have going on that weekend, but it should be a blast.
Based on the guest list they have on their website (heavy on comic people, short on D list celebrities and septuagenarian nerd icons), I am excited. To the point that I hope this is the final nail in Wizard World's coffin.
I'll be there. I'm a bit surprised there hasn't been more toy-related announcements, though. Aside from the expected Iron Man-related stuff (No, thanks.), I've yet to encounter any new/exclusive toys up for grabs. Anyone catch wind of anything kaiju dropping at the show?
I requested a copy of the exhibitor rates and stuff to see about getting a booth, but the rates weren't all that much cheaper than NYCC which is surprising since its its the first year. I choose NYCC, as there are def. more toy exhbitors.
Well yeah, if you're not a local I totally see the "is it worth it?" thought I guess. As for those going (at least on Sat) anyone wanna meet up pre-show? I'm getting there at opening to make the most of my $25 pass and don't know anyone else going except some of you guys. My friends are all too broke and my wife doesn't want to spend the money since she'd only be in and out in about 2 hours. Anyway, I have NO formal plans going in, no "gotta get in this line for this dude" or "need to see that panel!" type shit, totally free lancing this one so I'm pretty open. I'd say "bring some stuff for trades!" but I really have nothing to bring on that level so I'm not really pushing anything like that either. Anyway, it looks to be fun anyway and, again, if anyone wants to set up a meeting of the dorks (what a comic-con isn't one already?) let's do it!
You know I'm down for meeting up. We'll be the usual army. I have no idea what we're doing and I'm sure we're going to some panels and stuff. I'm waiting for the TV announcements, I'm really hoping Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer are coming.
Is legoomba going with you guys? I have some toys for him if so, I'll bring them anyway just in case. Well, again, I'm getting there at opening and am totally open for whatever. If Team Venture is there I'm way into seeing them too!
Not really kaiju (kaiju-inspired is more like it) but we'll have exclusives of a couple of our Lake Monster figures.
You still have JR's toys? He is such a damn slacker. Yes he should be with us. We've got some plans for Sat so far but you are more than welcome to come with us. We'll probably go eat and what have you. Kirby: Lake Monsters yes... But are you gonna have another Shag Shriner? Perhaps the beer filled one. Or maybe some with a sparker, or tin wheels?
I know Steve Seeley is on the board now (Trim Trab?). Anyways are you going to have any prints? I would love to have a few of those MOTU ones. Or the Spectreman and Mirrorman, I would love to own the paintings but I don't have that kind of scratch.
I'm actually not Steve (lol!). But I am a friend of his and I know that he's got a spot in artists alley and is planning on doing some short run books and prints.
Damn, oh well, I can't know everyone's tags. I prefer to know human names Either way He's the only artist I'm super excited about in artist alley so far.
Definitely going to C2E2! Best guestlist a Chicago comic con have ever had (...if you into comic books, of course)!
Dude, I'm pretty sure you've met everyone that is going to be there and probably have had them sign like twenty books each. Who could you possibly be missing on that guest list? I'm going to try and get Cari Fisher and Peter Mayhew to take a picture with my leg.
There are a bunch of of people on the guestlist that I haven't met yet, like Garth Ennis , David Lloyd and Michael Zulli. It is a nice change, since the usual Wizard Chicago con guest list consisted of has-been actresses/actors and shitty wrestlers. BTW, the party at my place has been rescheduled for the weekend after C2E2!
We're really bad friends. Give me a call or something sometime. Is everyone OK, I saw emergency, and I just wanted to make sure that you and your roommates are OK. By the way, we're gonna be cooking out soon down by the lake, and I think we're gonna go to Silver Palm the Thur. before C2E2, I haven't had a 3 little piggies in a while and my heart has been pumping way too much blood lately.
