I have a hard time passing up the 25 or 50 cent capsule toy machines. And when I find one with some neat stuff- I can't stop going back for more. I think I have actually lost or packed away more than I currently have out.... All my stuff is just local, but I know some of you must have amazing collections from Japanese Capsule Toy stores or elsewhere. Would love to see full collection pics of everyone's capsule toys. Please share your pics.
Great idea for a thread, and man, what a collection!! When I first saw the title I was already thinking, 'got to comment for someone to post vintage capsule/gumball machine prizes' and lo and behold If these are vintage they are at least in the style. Unfortunately for myself, it's been years since I have seen anything half-decent available. Wherever you found this, don't stop going!
Thanks ultrakaiju. All of those are actually pretty new. Nothing older than early 90's. I love them all the same though. And always searching for more. Kids at the pizza place, doughnut shop or store always trip on the "old guy" pumping quarters into the machines. LOL
Capsule machines are great! I actually have 3 of them in my place; one filled with vintage 10 cent capsule stuff and the other is a 1 cent machine filled with marbles. Neighbor’s kid likes to score marbles for a penny from me. Good for him!

here are 2 i am hunting for: galaxy warriors gumball machine pendants! not sure if there are more than these 2. i recall seeing one black version of that first one pop up once...
Great thread indeed! I used to have buckets of these from collecting a decade ago. I'll never forget my first capsule toy purchase that was at a Safeway...the capsule was shaped like an egg, half red, half blue. Popped it open to find what? A set of green and orange bootleg Godzilla type figs. Got home and smashed monopoly piece cities with those dudes for hours. I'll get some pics up once I find them, I definitely didn't toss them out.
Hey Lalo- They are from a series called Freaky Geeks. I have found them in capsule machines at Toys R Us and at grocery stores here in Fresno. I can get you some if you want. Just let me know. More... G and F- They are not Horvath designs to my knowledge. I don't collect Ugly Dolls, but the fact that they are very horvath like is part of what made me like them. Like super-mini Ugly Dolls. Especially the bat. Got them at a Me-N-Ed's Pizza place. Cannot remember the name of the little buggers.
That cyclops surfer is amazing, but that whole series is great. I'll have to keep a look out for some awesome capsule toys, most of the ones I see lately are super lame.
I've got a few of those little ninja guys. The Chinese fast food place near my house has them. The are called Bok Choy Boy. They did have a capsule machine full of small rubber koi fish I got slightly depressed when it disappeared one day.
Unfortunately, that is the only knuckles that I have. Still trying to find the painted version of him... I will get more when I can and if I can score you a knuckles too, I will.
This thread is awesome, makes me want to collect capsule toys. I can't even think of the last time I bought one, has to be at least five years ago. I don't a) see them very often and b) ever have change on me. There's tons of complete sets of Freaky Geeks on eBay for like $5-6 shipped.

Grabbing a few SD Gundam in Tokyo in 2000 is what got me into toy collecting. I need to get those out of the box eventually...
Here is some random gashapon I have picked up recently. Although I had seen these online for several years now, and generally they didn't have that much appeal for me for the price you have to buy them for online, I have to admit, they are much better in hand. The detail on some is really nice, and the plastic is actually very soft, masking some of the thinner figures maleable. I was initially just going to go for the Zazahn (a personal favourite) but for a 100 Yen, I just couldn't say no.
I love keshi figures ever since a few Kinnikuman guys I got as a kid. Here are some guys I have been picking up on a regular basis. I should have just bought them all up front at this rate, I am sure more will be added soon enough
Holy crap. I had no idea keshigomu kaiju had poses just like Kinnikuman figures. I really want those now.
