http://www.mcachicagostore.org/main/ite ... =545&cat=7 Why does this thing rate as an art object? I don't get it. I'd rather see Hukkokudo or Gargamel or old vinyl recognized as art--but then again the absence of a large art following keeps it cheap(er).
The MCA carries a lot of Kid Robot stuff and some Kubricks (400% and otherwise). The guy that started KR even did a lecture about toys at the MCA last year. I doubt the store will ever carry Japanese vinyl (Hukkokudo, Gargamel, etc), since the KR stuff is more accessible to a wider audience. Besides if you are looking for Japnese vinyl in Chicago, you would go to Rotofugi anyways.
One shouldn't underestimate the importance of the Bearbrick. In my opinion it really is one of the most important "new" toys ever.
Damn, gotta get one (or a couple thousand) of these http://www.mcachicagostore.org/main/ite ... =903&cat=7
