Love Azrael’s ear with a chunk missing. A little touch that adds a lot of attitude.

Castle Duckula, home for many centuries to a dreadful dynasty of vicious vampire ducks ...

The clip-on figure is 1989 by Cosgrove. The one on the right is possibly a bottle top made by Grosvenor of London, but i cant find any other examples online so i'm assuming its quite rare! He's the star of one of my fave animated TV shows, from when i was a young - 'Count Duckula' which was a spin-off from 'Danger Mouse'.

6" high Sonic bootleg. I prefer this one compared to any official toy i've seen of Sonic.

SANKYO (or quality bootleg) Musical pull-string Lemon. One of the eyes doesn't move, but the pull string and music works. I might try opening it and seeing if i can fix the eye movement, which is a long-shot but you never know. It might just need an extensive clean.

... and for anyone interested in the mechanical side of vintage pull string toys ...

I got it open and quickly realised its an official Sankyo product because the logo is etched onto the music box. The eye stopped moving because the wire has popped out of the fitting. I don't have the tools to fix it at the moment, but maybe sometime in the future. The wire just doesn't seem to want to go back where it used to be, and its very tough so i cant bend it.

Anyway, it was a good opportunity to give it a proper clean.

Yeah, I love it. It's quite a rare one, the only other one I've seen for sale had the turrets all bent out of shape.

Found a genuine GRAIL :D ... i don't ever use that term lightly and this one i've been after for about 15 years or so. Finally found him for a reasonable price. He's very rare and one of Ledraplastics biggest squeakers they ever made. There is a rabbit of similar size and style but its a bit shorter in height.

Vintage rubber squeaker, about 19" tall. From the 1960's.

Vintage squeaker with articulated head (6" high). I've been waiting for this one to pop up from a UK seller, and it finally happened. I've no idea why he's green but i like it ... maybe the factory had some extra green vinyl they needed to use up.
