Is it really worth shitting on someone for calling another person "dude" or "bro"? Serious or not, who cares? Just because it's not what you'd say to someone, doesn't suddenly make you a crazy intellect over someone that does. I got chastised here for calling a buddy of mine a cool cat once.
the hugging was my favorite part of Dcon honestly everyone i met at Dcon was amazing and went out of there way for other toy fanatics even if they just met. bros, duders, manly men who love to fight doesn't matter we all collect toys and i wouldn't have it any other way. i cant compare this to any other con nor would i want to. all i know is i will be going back next year no matter what. thank you everyone i met for being wonderful people.
it's insane all the hugging that goes down at all these events... Like Riggs said, chill... I always love meeting SB members and its never a bad first date.. I mean meeting... I'm pretty straight forward so its cool/funny to see people be shy about talking about past toy deals out loud. DCON shows me we are all human... hate all you want.. I'd rather go through posi then negative...
Just like so many that came before it,, this thread really turned to shit. Can you all just shut up with the hugs, hate, and posi bullshit? What a garbage dump. Just post more toy pics for fucks sake.
I wish I could have been at D-Con. I missed out on so many hugs. Could someone send me a virtual hug? High 5's, Hugs, Palm Tickles ect.. I would much rather have the positive vibes than negative. If you are the type of person that likes the negative then that's your choice. If you would prefer nut punches that's your choice. Maybe we should wear name tags to the events. List your name and choice hug or nut punch. Pic's ended on page 8. Tis all about hugs now. I just remembered! Mikee was supposed to mule me back a hug from Connell. I hope he came through.
Only because it invariably means you got to the front of the line! Possibly . . . it gets kind of old after 7 years of the same phenomenon raising its head with every new wave of n00bs! I see some guys once, maybe twice a year at these events and have good times, good eats and we rag on each other for the week. I'm in touch with most on a monthly, weekly, sometimes daily and don't see the need to continue the bromance on an open forum. Maybe it's an American thing and gets lost in translation, but it also sounds contrived and forced . . . like someone's trying waaaay too hard to fit in! Luckily, most of these BFF's will have gotten bored and moved onto whatever the hot new thing is by the time the next convention comes around!
You guys can complain about anything And with enough time usually do... Growing up the toughest guy I knew ( a Latin King who was in the "bounce squad" ) hugged everyone. So I just accepted it as no big deal. Maybe some of you need more hugs to chill out. It's really no big deal. I can live without the ass grabbing, but it comes with the territory I guess. Just have fun, shake a hand, hug your bud, crack a joke, enjoy the toys.
Somebody give Andy a hug, he needs one the most Robert, if nobody's told you lately... you're a pretty cool cat. Don't let the squares change you... knowhutimsayin' son-son??? I personally can't wait to get to the age where all the kiddies' new lingo has me cursing at the computer monitor and writing nasty letters to record labels (to stop making that hippity-hop-rap-crap and perpetuating this nonsense) Here's a Dcon-heavy pic of my top shelf for all you bro's
Hay Bud! BTW the word dude is a great term of endearment, especially if you have forgot someone's name
Wow Smurph, great pick ups bud, and it was great shooting the shit. I would like to get everyone together next time, we shall see how it goes.
Thanks, Sam. It was awesome hangin' with you, dude. Definitely some chill moments for me at DCon. Felt a lot more intimate and personable than SDCC. I was hella into it.
