I went home a few weekends ago for my birthday. My parents have a tradition of waking me up at 6 a.m. to wish me a happy birthday, regardless of what I did the night before. Here's some pictures they snapped. I found them fitting for this thread, peep the koji godzilla.
is that a pomeranian in your lap...? he sure is eyeballing that scrumptious looking strawberry cheesecake...!!!
Had a little bit of food while in NYC... Pizza at Two Boots: Taisho: Bahn Mi: Ramen Setagaya (I wish I had taken the picture a bit earlier when the yolk was still in the egg: At the sake bar:
Man that l'il brainiac is HUNGRY! Great pics Bert. I love this thread. Sparkling sake? Gotta try that.
A warning about sparkling sake. If you're not watching your intake, you'll be kissing the floor in no time.
Food is kinda pricey in NYC compared to SF . There were a couple other places we went to but I didn't think to take shots til later...and on the last day, I didn't bring the hedo or my camera cause I had already packed it. Soul food at Rack and Soul was pretty yummy...but no pics
Yeah, the more I think about it, "champagne sake" doesn't sound so great, but if I spot some, I'll try it. Thanks for the warning. I have some unfiltered/chilled sake at home that's very nice. I'll wait 'til that's gone, or maybe I'll just feed it to the kaiju.
How bout unfiltered sparkling sake. Ooooooo....soooooooo good. I had some at Bushi-tei. From what I've tasted, the sparkling one's are sweeter than unfiltered and unfiltered sparkling isn't that much sweeter than regular sparkling (maybe only slightly sweeter).
We were shooting a documentary in a market with Damaged Brain. I thought it would be fitting to post these here.... Let's cook! What do we need? ...ginger... ...tomatoes... ...garlic... ...egg plant... ...lots of bananas!
Stomps at Mr. Fong's in Foster City..... gao choi gah. minced chicken and leeks pan fried. my favorite!! the best beef chow mein in the bay area? I think so.... Har Gao. Shrimp dim sum....just ok... please.... let me get the check! no, no..... i've got it...!!
