Hey guys, not sure if this is the right forum, but I recently heard about a pretty interesting soft vinyl technique and was wondering if any of you guys (or gals) had heard of it. Fellow forumer @Nuggets303420 told me he has a piece of sofubi from Shikaruna that has two different translucent glitter vinyls swirled together (he calls marbling "swirling" for some inexplicable reason, just go with it). Just curious if anybody here has ever seen, heard of, or, even better, owns anything like that? I know if anybody knows, they're probably right here. Also, if you haven't seen anything like that, would you like to? I would, 'cause it sounds pretty damn awesome. I'm sure he's probably got a camera laying about somewhere. He told @toothaction about it, too, and when I wanted to know more, David said it sounded "clear as day" (no pun intended, I presume) to him. So, this is likely just something I just haven't run across yet. I spend a lot of time checking this stuff out, but hey, you really can't see everything, can you?

Dude, I've exhausted every known resource I have in my being to extract anything from this guy that would corroborate his claim. I, in fact, have photos of the item in question, from four different angles, where there is clearly no marbling present whatsoever (along with a description of the item from when it was sold that mentions *one* kind of vinyl and *no* marbling), which I have presented to him and he continues to insist that the vinyl is either marbled, swirled or mixed. He seems to think changing the term changes... something.

But thanks for chiming in...

If it's two clear based glitter-infused vinyl pours then yeah, it's going to be hard to spot in photos. Normal glitter vinyl is hard enough to photograph. So if it's say gold glitter/silver glitter pours marbled together then good luck picking the two out of the mix. Depends how sparse the glitter is as well.. but anywway, what's so mind-blowing about it to devote a whole thread to this? Post the photos and let's take a look..

Smashing Idea. I already posted the first one, I think in a sales thread, where this started, the other in PM.

And the description on Rakuten where I got the picks:

"Shikaruna ยท Kobo CUBE series starting! CUBE Arrange the original Gensou Series "Doruru"! Exquisite painting is given to the blue clear lame molding! The case can be displayed as if it is put in the cage with the design of the prison motif!"

I started out talking about how lovely this piece was and now I have cold sweats just thinking about it.

    EDIT: Description auto-translated, obviously.

You can kind of see the double pour in the tips of the "horns"

I'm thinking a double pour with clear blue on the outside with 3+ types of glitter mixed in, and a swirl on the inside with what looks like GID and orange/bronze. It's hard to tell where exactly the glitter is, but it's a nice effect and overall looks nice

It looks like it also has internal sprays, at least to me.

I think that myself and Brandon did come to the agreement that the inside were painted, rather than being a double-dipper, That's how I remember it, anyhow. And, yeah, it does sure look nice, I think we can all agree on that one.

I do appreciate you guys chipping in, I know that's what I asked, but don't go pouring over this thing like the Torah. When you gaze into the abyss, it also gazes into you. I know that now.
