The real drama here is the shipping fees for Canada. There's -no way- it costs 30$ to ship a bagged toy to Canada from the US! 5$ or less!
EMS? Yeah, it does unfortunately. I just mailed a 3A figure to Vancouver the other day via EMS and it was just under $40. No offense to the Canadians, I won't send anything first class mail anymore. Too many issues.
^ How much issues is many for you ? Never had a single fucking problem with first class mail myself. Do what you want though.
I've had two packages get messed up. One was sorted out, but it took almost a month and a half to get to me. The second one was a big loss. I lost two very hard to find toys in that deal and that was too much for me to deal with again.
Notice I said "bagged". I got two minis from the US this week, and the shipping on both was 1.50$. Plus, in years of receiving multiple packages a week, the only problem I've ever had was with a package that was delivered to the wrong address but that had tracking and signature option - someone else signed, mailman problem.
My phone warns me 15 minutes before auctions end, it's going off every minute or so with stuff I'm watching... and buying nothing. Pretty crazy, meanwhile Skullbrain is a ghost town for the next couple hours.
I'm seeing many of "protos" go by that aren't protos at all, just unpainted releases. Can't that get him in trouble with eBay?
does it really matter? you think ebay would take the time to figure out which are protos and which were blank releases in order to do anything about this? plus, people paying that kind of coin should know what the fuck they're getting, but apparently not.. the proto blue hollis (which was never released, correct?) went for less than the powder blue first release. despite all that, scott's a great dude and i'm happy he's making so much.. those VR protos got crazy. i wanted one, but no chance am i spending that much on a 4 inch hunk of vinyl
They wouldn't do anything, but if someone bought one and they realized it was a standard release, they could moan and get him in trouble... Or could they? I'm not saying it's not common or anything. There was a time when I reported every item that was misidentified that popped up in my saved searches (I'm glad Bemon isn't one of them, because I'd have reported a lot about this sale). Would have loved to see whether eBay actually did anything about it.
I am assuming Hanks MB collection is now complete. A lot of the stuff I was watching went over my budget. So no bids for me. It was ridiculous prices on the roses and le merde's stuff. I was feeling buyer's remorse just seeing the amount they were going for.
^^ That's my guess about Hank too, congrats. Nothing for me, though the red stomp was amazing to say the least. Another clear blue ooze bat has slipped by me too.
I wanted that Barabaran but it got to be too pricey for me. Going to go hunting for one or two more of that sculpt soon I think, I love the pair I have.
Just saw this. Damn right this place is full of contradictions: 1. People are complaining about boardies not paying enough for a GID wing on the BST right now, and Prometheum raises a great (but not new) point in that thread - if our own "bro's" arent gonna pay shit for a cool toy, then what route do u have to go but elsewhere, unless u wanna give it away? 2. Scott has been amazing with many Stealth sales and giving S7FL a shot - yet some folk are turning on him faster than a rattlesnake here. As Joe says - make friends, not connections. Scotts been a friend to many on here, and seeing folk turn on him over this shows more about them than him. 3. As someone points out, I too have been offered unpainted S7 toys for pretty high prices on this very board - needless to say I didnt bite - but I dont think the people who offered em to me are evil 4. People here regularly buy off flippers on YJ - and thats not a problem. We produdly display our YJa hauls. Yet buying from Scott is? I'd rather buy off Scott than any flipper and I did. He has sold so many toys for next to nothing - he totally deserves to do his thing here. In the end his prices went low for all but the S7 stuff - those Nakayoshi one-offs were way lower than cost and same for the M1GO hedos. 5. Negative commentary not allowed? As much as I love you Ed - I see negative commentary FAR outweighing any positivity on here lately. Case in point; the Ava Pink Hedo plea from Lorne - got answered and then another awesome samaritan offered his Ava Hedo to the first guy. Total karma. Awesome? Yes. Tried to float that thread to the top, and it sank like a trace - way too positive for anyone to give a shit? Yes. I passionately care about this board and this community - and seeing some of teh comments in here rankles the shit out of me. Can't u tell? I have a big deadline at work tonight and instead I'm typing this...I must be insane...cos chances are no gives a shit, and I am about to trigger another set of off-color PM's...
Some valid points but I completely disagree with #2. If someone has unlimited cash and ends up selling items to others for super cheap...it does in fact hurt people who bought at retail and who want to sell at retail. If someone purchases something for 40 and sells for 5.00 dollars. It's a great buy but it does affect other individuals who bought at 40 and want to just sell at the same price point to get their money back. Should they have lose a bunch of money just because someone else decided to sell for super cheap? Also I don't see this as a bunch of people 'turning on Scott' and labeling him an asshole and vilifying him. . What I do see people doing is commenting on the sale and stating their opinions about it. I think everyone on this board and in life has done something that OTHER's would consider a douchebag maneuver. I have friends that have done borderline tasteless things...it doesn't mean..at the end of the day..they aren't still friends.
toys are rad friends are rad stop being so bitchy and stop worry about how much a toy is worth, if that concerns you than you are in this for the wrong reasons.
