ok - I , of all people , understand we all have lives outside of toys - and there is a great 101 thread about how to handle sales / trades as far as keeping the lines of communication open and all that goosd stuff - but this is rediculous

Im dealing with someone who will remain nameless for now - he/she sold about 8-10 items at real low pricing about 4 weeks ago. I have tried and tried to find out shipping info for the item I bought and all i get is half assed answers about blah blah it may have shipped last week or it will ship this week. 4-5 days go by between responses via email/pm yet the user who sold toys is active here daily. i bought the fucking toy on June 2nd and you cant even gimme shipping info?

then after politely ( can you believe that? ) asking for shipping info for the 3rd time i get a response like this

i told u i mailed it ffs . I got a new gf, full time job and i'm going to school. I even gave everyone great deals and had to mail out 8 items. I charged 5 dollars for shipping when it costs me 10-15 dollars.

    wait

so giving people great deals and low prices allows you to be a fucking dickhead and not update them on shipping and then when asked about it you again have carte blanche to act the dick? I dont care if you have a new girlfriend - yer spending the $ i gave you on your new girlfriend - ship my fucking toy asshat

all i wanted was a DC# or tracking # - dont come at me with the ForFuck'sSake bullshit kid - im not bothering you for anything other than proof that you shipped my toy before my damn 45 day paypal window goes by - just in case i want to escalate a claim to get my $ back which you probably already drained outta your account anyway.

get me my damn info on the shipping fucker - paypal has been escalated

yeah man i know - im just heated - i have been screwed a few times and PAYPAL only gives ya so much time to act - even then accounts can be drained and no refunds issued

but what the fuck ya know? the excuse is that you ( not YOU specifically ) have a new GF that you are taking out on my dime and I dont have my fuckin toy inside 4 weeks? take yer new hewer to the post office on your next date - buy her some stamps - and ship my fuckin Chaos.

oh no i HAVE been refunded from NON-EBAY sales before when sellers couldn't prove any shipping info- I know there were others involved in the sales - as long as the douche in question didnt drain the $ outta their account before the escalation was filed.

if you feel you were also one involved- PM me and lemme know if you got your stuff yet - already chatting with one party about this

Damn...now I'm heated too. That's why I always pay for stuff with a credit card (through paypal). Let them earn their fees by going after these fools.

I hope it works out. There's nothing like getting really excited to buy a new toy and then this happens.

I'm doing my absolute very best to remain civil and wait until I receive a response to my PM from the seller. The response (or lack of; I figure 24 hrs. is fair since the message has been recently read) will dictate my action. I'll be nice until tomorrow.

    I hate doing this.

Not to stir the flames; and I hope all parties sort this out and everyone gets their rightful toys, but I think we definitely need to make a BUYER BEWARE list here on skullbrain and have a sticky posted in the 'for sale' section. It gets tough because no mods or S7 want to be the judge and jury on things like this but if certain people here (and their IP addresses) consistently ignore the general selling/buying ethics then it needs to be made general knowledge. Scarlet Letter and what not...For the most part I think we have a great bunch of people here though.

Yeah....me too. Stuff like this will eventually happen on a public forum with 1000 people. However, every day there are tons of sales and everything seems fine. When something bad happens they stand out and unfortunate but I tend to think they are rare.

A year ago I would have scoffed at the idea of using a bad seller list. Now, I dunno. These incidents are probably statistically rare, but there has definitely been an upswing in the number of 'bad seller' incidents taken public in the past few months. I don't know if it is due to an increase in the number of flaky sellers, or a reduction in members' trust of each other. Probably both.

I think the important thing is for each of us to be reasonably vocal about sellers that don't follow through. I don't mean "it's tomorrow and why haven't you shipped," but when weeks pass and PMs/emails go unanswered, a public thread may be due. I think this is harder to gauge when you are not as familiar with the seller/buyer that you are dealing with, which is an unfortunate consequence of a larger board population.

Anyway, best of luck to all of you in resolving this. I've always enjoyed the level of trust in board transactions, and I hope we can maintain that element as we grow.

Without a name this is just drama. What's the point? Are large letters supposed to scerr someone into action?

We are such a small community that if we can't remember who may have burned us or someone in the past then we have got bigger issues - I would hate to see us gone down this path.....

Having the same kind of problem with a seller.

Honestly, if you can't do your part as the seller, don't sell. If you are going to take the money then do your part. I rather spend time chasing toys I want than spending time chasing up on bad sellers.

I agree, when I sell something I have it packed and ready to ship as soon as I have a buyer and have received payment. It should be common sense. I hate hearing the "I'm too busy right now to ship" crap. If you have enough time to start a sales thread, then collect payment, you better have time to earn it.

It takes a few seconds to type out a pm saying "Here is your tracking #..." If there isn't a tracking number, then at least tell the buyer when the item/s have been shipped. Having a new girlfriend, a full time job, and school, is not an excuse to show some respect to a buyer...I can't even believe that you would use "I have a new girlfriend..." as an excuse. For somethings it might be viable, but for something like this?
Common courtesy goes a long way...grow up people.

I would like to know who this seller is...just pm me.

I had to go through something similar with a small gallery in NYC (no...not the one Lorne works at). It took them 2 months to return my figure and they tried to bill me twice for shipping fees. I was ready to call him up and start charging him a storage fee. I will never have pieces shown in that gallery again.
