Sorry, not Neon Genesis, but from those black-hearted bastards in Behemoth...

I've been listening to this one off and on since last week and it is solidly heavy throughout...maybe not quite as cranium exploding as Demigod, but incendiary enough to kill small rodents within listening range. This is supposed to be "extreme" metal, but it somehow seems to be just about right for what metal (circa 2009) should be...(that said, I am still looking forward to the new releases from Megadeth and Slayer!)

Is anyone else liking this record? One of the things I like about this album is it is not all just blast beats and indecipherable shredding---it has some good song structure and development throughout the whole disc. Is there anything else I should be listening to?

i'll have to give this a listen.
i haven't listened to behemoth in ages, so it would be well deserved refresher course with new material.

Somebody needs to make either a NGE metal concept album (and by somebody I mean Gamma Ray) or do metal covers of all the NGE songs. I'd buy that in a hot minute.

My love for that song, and particularly for the AWK version, is beyond measure. Ai Senshi is so good even Gackt couldn't mess it up!

Shoko Nakagawa (Shoko-tan) did a really good cover of the Eva theme, but I still want a metal version (that's not by Animetal).
