The math also says the highest reward tier is a convenient way for Greg to get rid of some of his thrift store dollies for $300 apiece. No takers there, huh..?

if you aren't blind you can clearly do the numbers, and realize that he at least got almost half of it funded by "fans" at least its only half of a risk now as you got half of the money "pledged" yeah we'll used pledged... it's a far nicer word.

I don't know about dodgy, but the numbers everyone has posted above are pretty transparent. Just did them myself to see.

• If you take every reward tier cost and multiply by the number of backers, they add up to $7505
• Total funds raised were $15,393, so that's $7888 unaccounted for
• 156 backers pledged for rewards, leaving 10 to split the outstanding funds
• 10 people like Mr T dolls and/or Quang's admittedly excellent cosplay enough to pledge $790-odd on average, for nothing in return

Kickstarter only lets you pledge at a single level per campaign, so we know there are no cases of double-counting where one person might take multiple pledges (sometimes a problem when doing numbers for other sites).

If 10 people with deep pockets actually loved this enough to produce about half the funding for it, that's their business. Twisting people's arms to secure pledges is a lame move, though. Maybe a full coffee-table book isn't the right way to produce this thing; if it's just a passion project the best thing to do might be raising enough to pay your photographer, getting the shoot done and posting online. Circulate a zine if you want to be really indie about it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I found out yesterday that my friends daughter has type 1 Diabetes. He's a single Dad and his daughter is his whole life (she's 13 years old) he took her in for a skin rash, but after urine tests they found out about the Diabetes.

Fucking sucks. She's a good kid. He had a run of bad luck financially, but recently their luck was turning around for them and things were looking up - and now this shit happens.

Fig tree. Was acting manly the other day, shirtless, trimming the damn thing back. Didn't know I was allergic to the leaves or sap. Thundercats was poorly written he-man rip off. Rife with animation mistakes and weird nonsense.
It's about some boujee ass cat people that ruin their own planet, so they have colonize 3rd Earth. They end up fighting a mummy man and his montly band of monsters, to save a bunch of robo-bears? then... they end up fighting some pirates. The whole time it took itself WAY too serious.

I think it'd be HARD not to write a better story than that.


It's a cartoon, for kids... Wtvr.

 

I would LOVE to see this turn into a full-blown pissing contest between He-man and Thundercats fans.....

Both IPs are ludicrous. If we were to ask which one was more successful? My $ is on MOTU. Bigger toy line, and Skeletor.
Both had show runs of 130 episodes.

I don't think I'd go that far and if someone does do that they need to seriously get there fucking ass beaten. But I do feel Thundercats fans get neglected way more with the property.
