I'm thrilled to announce this, at last: Artist links here: http://garamania.blogspot.com/2011/12/garamaniacal_13.html GARAMANIACAL Coloring Contest! http://garamania.blogspot.com/2011/12/garamaniacal-coloring-contest.html
Re: GARAMANIACAL So all the hard work before all the hard work is done? Congrats! I'm going to have to figure a way over there, looks like it's worth a hop!
Re: GARAMANIACAL It's gonna be nuts... so many surprises in store. Everyone involved is really enthusiastic about it, and the range of Gara-stuff is going to be pretty stunning. I'm really grateful for the way it's coming together, and for Jim and Nicole from FOE being willing to host it!
Re: GARAMANIACAL I'll take a Crowleymon print, please. Very interested to see what this show has in store!
Yeah, "Boston-ish"- you better, Patrick! Seriously, I'm psyched that some of you guys might come out for the show! And get this: Jim tells me that there's an experimental film group in the next town over that wants to get involved with a suite of (deeply weird) Garamonically-oriented events on Saturday, 2/11- should be a nice follow-up to opening night!
Sounds like the festivities are going down on my birthday weekend - If any of you Chicago folk are going and have an extra seat I'd love to kick in gas money so I can celebrate with Gary. So much the better if any Michigan boardies are thinking about the trip, but I'm not holding my breath... PM a stranger?
Awesome, that looks really cool! Congratulations to any artists involved in a cool project for a classic Kaiju.
Thanks again for putting this all together Mike! This is going to be one kickass show. Wish I could make it out for the opening.
My pleasure, Troy! The hardest thing for me is going to be hanging the show... and then standing amidst all that amazing Gara-art, in the fully EnGaranated and Pygmatized FOE-space. My head's gonna explode, I think... I'm gonna want ALL of it...
Whoa! Stoked to see this. Jim @ FOE mentioned there were some interesting things planned for 2012, but he didn't hint at this. Great to see shows like this and the previous Greasebat show out here in western Mass. Mike if there was ever a time to drop a new Garamania Tee shirt, this will be it. Thanks for planning what sounds like an awesome show.
That is so awesome poster rules too... I may actually have to try and get out there for this... has been a bit since I left the safety of the desert
Glad people are digging the poster; all the colors on it are spray paint. I printed the image out on acetate, flipped it and applied the sprays. Scanned it, sent it to my wonderful sister (much more Photoshop savvy than I) and she finished it off. Really thinking of doing a shirt for the show with just the textless image... maybe "GARAMANIACAL" on the back, maybe not...
that's my biggest fear — that all the good stuff will be hanging on the walls in your house rather than in the gallery also, now's the perfect time to reprint some more of those red dissected garashirts.
