That is the honourable dude who runs MediCom toys, if I'm not mistaken. I love the REV9, but its seems a bit large for such a simple sculpt. I'd like to see photos of it next to other toys . . .
That's a good point, I didn't notice how big it was because it was in cm, but that is enormous. At that size it would seem like a mascot you would see on the counter of some shop or something. I could see it being maybe more like 3". That would work.
Good to know! All I knew is that I was very VERY jealous that he was carrying/hugging that glorious monstrosity of a toy.
I think they'd be perfect at a full size around 8" - 10" or so. But yeah, this continuous run of large releases doesn't make sense, imo. The size does come across as unnecessary for some of the sculpts and although I can see the appeal for others, It would take a Lot of space to have them all... Perhaps GEEK! doesn't expect fans to collect the bunch; most of the sculpts are stylistically diverse enough to support that.
The big guy came today. He really is quite imposing in person! I'm gonna grill him up with some BBQ sauce later... The header's actually bigger than he is:
Had a minor epiphany last night when I realized this guy actually bears way more resemblance to a Hostess Snowball than he does meat
My "white people" Mandarake limited Jyujin arrived today and if I had photoshop & Nikon ViewNX installed on this computer I'd upload some photos; I am more than pleased with it. The way the paint is applied to that crazy "porous" textured vinyl is amazing. The masking issues people mentioned regarding the face are not correct, it looks fine in person. I'll get some photos up soon.
You tryin' to make me look bad or somthin'. just post a pic, goshdarnit! This guy's all about the texture. Obviously. It really comes out with the marbling on my version, as well. I haven't been to crazy about the painted one's I've seen, but I did just see the "Black People" variant (seriously, Mandrake?) and I do like that. Look forward to seeing yours.
I don't want any trouble so here you go. I also got 2 other Geek! pieces today - the size initially freaked me out because most of my shit is like your standard fight figure size but after 10 minutes looking at them I'm digging the size a lot!
I thought you'd see it my way I like that one MUCH better than the one I looked at on Lowbrownie. That one was just kind of plain flesh paint on the hands and face, where this one has much cooler red stuff going on. And there's way more gradation going on on the body, as well. And the green/orange eyes weren't really noticeable over there, either. This one is pretty cool! And that tag's pretty neat. I found the guy's size almost absurd when I got him. Not just the height, but the sheer bulk. Just a big presence. Not sure how to put this, but he's got a kind of a presence that a Moai or a Sphinx statue does. Like you're looking at something that has significance. Which I guess is part of what Geek! does, considering stuff like the Requiemer .
Ha, the "plain flesh face" is the one I have ("Basara" edition), and it's my favorite version! Indeed, variety is the spice of life
@rattanicus Actually that's not as bad as the one they have. The purple lips and shading around the eyes add quite a bit to yours. Still prefer @siphilon's, though. After mine, of course!
Thanks for putting a pic up, Siphilon. This is the version I'd want to have too. Love the colors and the shading adds to his imposing stature. Congratulations
Damn, that's rad! I guess the arms can go into the body..? the sculpting is top notch for sure. is geek a one man operation?..sculpting, painting, design, etc
This is such a strange toy. I'd love to know the story behind Rev9. I assume he's tied to the False Messiah somehow since they both feature the same quite specific belt piece.
