I was wondering about those arms, and now they make sense. I like this colorway too.

Its probably way beyond my toy budget, though . . . which is becoming the norm recently.

In trying to figure out more about the False Messiah I did discover one theme with owls, elephants & turtles all being nocturnal (*elephant is actually diurnal and noct). Unfortunately that's where my info dump ends... :?

I really like the torso sculpt on the new REV9! I guess it's supposed to depict clouds, maybe?
This. Went from looking willfully weird to being pretty cool.
You're putting more thought into this than I did, and that's pretty unusual. But, now that you've mentioned it, the depiction of the elephants and the turtle on the belt bring to mind illustrations of Akupara, the mythological Hindu creature who carries the world on it's back. I couldn't really find many good illustrations (or any that actually looked Hindu), though. Doesn't explain the owl, but I think it makes sense that any fashion-forward owl wanting to make a statement would be would be open to wearing a Akupara belt.

Oh wow, you nailed it! Nice work - there is also what looks like a serpent around the bottom half of the body below the belt which goes up to the beak of the owl.

Now that I look closer, I do see the serpent (actually looks like a snake to me). One of the few other depictions I found of this thing I found was this one:

I can't tell if the snake/serpent is eating it's tail on the fig, but it definitely looks like Akupara was an inspiration/intended reference!

Were you just looking at the images of the Messiah posted here, or do you have a better resolution available? I don't really see the snake (or serpent) going up to his beak.

Anyone know if the Minotaurs are still due to ship late August? Not really sure where to check.

My shipping address was in limbo so I had to cancel my order according to their policy. I am bummed but I just sold my house and moved in with a buddy so I get it. Please post pics when you get them. Never been so sad to have to cancel an order. Those minotaurs are just out of this world. Moog those pictures are amazing! Thank you for sharing!!!

Anyone got their Mino yet? Their preorder page still says late August for shipment. Does Medicom send out Shipping Invoices with tracking or does it just show up on your doorstep one day? Never ordered from them before.

Nothing I ever ordered from Medicom had a tracking number nor did I get any update while delays happened.

Medicom are producing so many dolls at the moment I would think everything might be delayed a bit longer.

They will come thru tho so keep the faith and try to be patient, I know that part is not easy.

Thanks for the answer! It's so hard to be patient sometimes, haha. This is definitely the most expensive toy I have ever bought. A part of me really wishes I hadn't, because my dog had to go to the vet the next month and I could have used the money... It's all making me very anxious about its arrival. I just want it to arrive safe and sound, and hope I'll be so happy with it that I can stop myself from buying any toys for a long while.

Welp, it's September and no Minotaur. Please let it be just a usual Japan to USA shipping delay and not a package trapped in US customs limbo. :(
....if they break my Mino open to check for drugs or some kind of bs, I will go on a rampage with that axe omake.

The good thing is being able to order direct, tho the wait is always the hardest part

    I think maybe another 6 - 8 weeks tops

Minotaur had a very large order reserved so with detail paints etc. just takes longer

Once they are boxed and ship should only take 3 or 4 days to arrive in the states

MY MINO CAME, AND IT IS HUGE.

    Some words of wisdom...
    • DO NOT ROTATE THE HORNS. They weren't meant to be rotated, and one is already scratched thanks to my curiosity.
    • I can't get it to stand. I think I spent 20 min trying to adjust the arms, axe, everything to try to get it to balance... No dice. It has to lean on something, it is way too top heavy.
    • It's about twice the height of a "standard size" toy. Prepare your shelf accordingly.

Glad the doll arrived, it is indeed huge!

In the future please expect things to take a while longer.

Depending on how things pan out, Medicom might be offering
a few more dolls that will no doubt get lots of preorders

SO....I won the lottery for the Medicom versions of these giant beasts, but they had to cancel my order because I was moving and it has to be a secure address. I was bummed but they were also $300+ per toy, and I didn't really have $650 laying around.

Long story short, I was cruising Mandarake the other day and scored this version. It's a Wonderfest exclusive, small run #'ed 7/22, and it was only $180 or so. I like it better than the Medicom versions (It's a complete fucking stunner) and it was over $100 less. I am absolutely ecstatic. I did get it to stand, but it's a tippy canoe for sure. Gonna get out the hair dryer and try to shape it tonight so it stands firm. Also was watching ancient aliens last night while opening this and they were talking about Minotaurs being real. Basically saying aliens had the ability to make three headed dogs and other transplants, and that they most likely made the minotaur to carry heavy loads, but be intelligent enough to follow orders. SO now I'm just blown away by the coincidence of it all. I have a frigging ancient alien God in my hands. Incredible.

After seeing so many pictures of these guys, I really, really like them. Only problem for me is the size. I don't know if I can justify having a toy that hogs that much shelf space

I asked Masahiro-san on FB, I think I showed him that pic, and asked if this creation myth thing or whatever it is was the inspiration for the belt stuff, and he said it was. Now that I've got one in hand (yay!) it seems pretty obvious, you can see the elephants are on the turtle's back, and the snake around it's waist is eating it's tail. I'm not sure the snake is always part of it, but there it is.

I'm just glad to get one, it came today. I prolly shoulda put something in for scale, 'cause it is so big. I plan on getting a Requiemer soon, too, which will be three of these Geek guys.. Maybe I'm a size queen..
