I'm not sure if anyone here is a GODFLESH fan, but I am, and I'm super excited that they are touring again. I have never seen them play, and along with Boris, this year holds some serious landmarks in concerts for me. Apparently, they have a new album coming out sometime in the near future too... I hope this tour is more of a classics tour than a new album tour, but either way, there's bound to be some streetcleaner action to be found!

    Any thoughts?

Holy shit, I haven't listened to Godflesh since around 2002. If they're coming through Arizona I'd love to see 'em!

If Head of David is touring with them I'm in.

They are playing with Nails and Prurient, who I am not familiar with yet. Sounds like I've got to go do some research on these other bands!

Nice avatar, Chrome "Anorexic Sacrifice" 7"?

I highly recommend Head of David if you have not heard them before, especially "Dustbowl" and the "White Elephant" EP. The "Dustbowl" record was one of my favorite albums for a long time back then, even now its still great. I made the bad joke above as one of the members was later in Godflesh.

Nails is great. Unsilent Death is such a good album. Very intense live shows, too.

Hey Baikin, thanks, I think it's actually "3rd from the Sun" but I'm always glad to run into others who like Chrome! One of my absolute favorite bands EVER. Did you know that Helios Creed found and mastered about 14 tracks from 1979-1980 that had been previously lost? It's called "Half Machine from the Sun."

And I've heard of Head of David, and knew that there was some connection to Godflesh, but my sleepiness when I first posted kept me from seeing the humor, I suppose. I will try to check them out, based on your recommendation, however.

And xSuicide Squadx, I have read some good things about Nails after hearing about them because of their supporting status. It might be more metal than I lean towards nowadays, but I always appreciate live music more if I am familiar with their recorded stuff first.

That's right! I forgot that the 7" is black and white with off center red and blue printing with that same beast. I have all those records but they have been in storage for about 13 years so my memory is getting a little foggy. I went crazy tracking down all the vinyl in about '86 and finally got everything.

I remember seeing Helios a bunch of times live years ago in SF and sometimes would visit him when he was living on the school bus near the Haight and sharing some herb. I really liked the solo records he did but I've been out of the loop for a long time. I'd be interested to hear the lost tracks from that period!

here's a taste... If you like the "Blood on the Moon"/"3rd from the Sun" era stuff, you'll love this! It's not as out there as Half Lip or Alien Soundtracks, but it's solid work, especially considering the fact that it went unheard for three decades.

Helios is the man! I saw him perform once in Los Angeles, and I was tripping out at the lights and sonic guitar mayhem... turns out, what I thought was me spacing out on the music was actually me having a fever, lol. Oh well, it felt like a free high at the time...
