Does anyone remember that video that made the internet rounds about a year ago or so, that had Danzig getting "KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT" backstage at a music festival? Funny as hell. I can't find the video right now, but if I remember the story right, he used his pull to get onthe stage early. This one band agreed to change spots with him and in exchange he was going to play the crowd up for them. But as his set ended he screwed them over by telling the crowd that the show was over. So, backstage one of the band members beat the living shit out of him!!! Never met Danzig in person, but being a part of the NYC music scene for a while, heard numerous stories of what a tool he is.
I saw that video, he's like "fuck you motherfucker" and pushes the guy and then the guy nails him. Did he punch a regular pumpkin or a Jack O lantern?
Did anyone see the video of danzig getting knocked the fuck out ? I have to find it now. I personaly wouldnt want to fuck with him but the guy who kicked his ass had no problem
It was a jack-o-lantern... It was halloween and Danzig played an acoustic set...plus he was drinking alcohol (and so were we). My friends and I were right beside the stage (at this little bitty club on Santa Monica BLVD.). All of these jack-o-lanterns were around the stage. Just as the set was over, he walks toward us. My friend picks up the jack-o-latern and says 'Punch it. Punch it.' And Danzig did...we all started laughing including Glenn.
I've heard that Trent Reznor pretty much just hangs out with teenage mall goth kids that worship him.
Hey, here's another Danzig story: He took a friend of mine and a couple of other people out for dinner one night in LA a few years ago (the third participant was supposed to be Forest J Ackerman of Famous Monsters fame). ANyway, the funny part, to me any way is where he took them. A fancy restuarant? No. A gothic club with candlelit dinner? No. Sizzler. YES.
please anymore stories i ran into danzig... twice both at the comic con. the first time he just said hey and took a picture with me and was kind of joking about it and asked me a few questions(had the full of himself aura) and then two years later i ran into him again at the con and had a pretty cool discussion with him about old old horror movies and japanese films
waitress: hey Glenn the usual ? Danzig: oh yeah fucking bloody has hell mother fucker waitress: it never ends
I met Glenn at Tower Records in Boston on Halloween. He was wearing this half leather jacket that stopped above his belly button. Very gay look for him. He signed my cd booklet and was kind of like NEXT! He did play a great show that night at the Roxy in Boston. I also want to see the Samhain reunion at Lupo's in R.I. People kept fucking with him all night. Yelling shit at him, trying to spit on him, and throwing flyers the other band gave at him. He was so pissed off he says "Fuck you guys! You guys suck so much I'm not going to play Mother" and he walked off. No encores for us. All in all a fun night.
wait ...(laughter) why would danzig play mother with samhain. Did he play the howl or anything from samhain:final descent... this really should have been a pm
exeter, Glenn did a Samhain set then a Danzig set. Obviosly Mother was part of the danzig set. The Samhain set lasted about half an hour.
Chad, I can't remember, i think around fifteen?? They all came out coverd in blood like the Initium album. Eerie wasn't with them though, so that kind of sucked. I have a bootleg dvd of some backstage/on stage stuff. Pretty cool.
Eerie got tired of Glenn and Glenn kicked him to the curb. I think he lives in Florida somewhere and has put out a CD or 2 of dark ambient music.
Danzig at Comic con 05'...Tons and tons of peeps just walking by him, noone recognized him, even the kids with Misfits shirts, even my boyfriend who loves Danzig didn't recognize him...i think i pissed him off cause I pulled out a Blazac toy we had just bought and was like "check this out glenn, isn't it cool? wheres your toy glenn?" I believe the Famous Monsters CD is with Michael Graves singing...Not my favorite misfits, but if you like Graves his solo stuff has really got me hooked as far as horror punk goes, Punk Rock is Dead is pretty tasty. Graves is also amazing live, his voice never cracks or waivers...i was impressed. He also has a number (1119) When I lived in New Orleans we use to see trent Reznor slumming around Uptown near his recording studio...we almost ran him over once...
I heard on that tour that Samhain was really just like the guitar player and bass player of Danzig switched places.
That would be really lame... I thought one or two original members beside Glenn did a few shows for the first Samhain reunion? Am I wrong?
well, I only know one person who actually went to that tour, and she told me that it was a member switch and nothing more. maybe some earlier shows had actual members though.
