Purchased an item from a fellow skullbrainer a few months ago at this point more than a few. was giving them the Benefit of doubt because they said the were going through stuff and was being patient but seeing them active with little to no communication is frustrating.
Its rare. Possibly pm one of the mods? I had it happen once but I was informed the guy had possibly died. He was never active on here ever again, and it wasn't a lot of money, so I let it go.
I mean, there have been occasional attempts here to create such a thing, but I am hesitant to draw more attention to them as it is not historically a very productive exercise. This thing is usually handled best on the one-to-one level. It is largely a caveat emptor market on here, and while we can get involved to some extent, there is little power/recouperance we can wield when it comes down to it; for this very reason the board has a set of rules to govern sales, and everyone is always advised to be sensible and safe when proceeding with private transactions. Do not send payments as gift/F&F unless you really know someone, and then you can at least go through Paypal to try for a refund. On the rare occasions where there has been massive sales fraud/outright theft perpetrated through the board (or associated), we have highlighted these specific individuals, as much to warn others away as to gather collective cases together. Outside of that, I will just say that the community tends to police itself in as much as we are able [and willing]. Bad behaviour can get you on the outs, though we know that might not mean as much as it once did. But that is about the extend airing any grievances can get you via a board topic. I would also note here that, while I do not know the specifics of the case your are speaking of - and it would really be helpful to give details to frame the context correctly, without of course making this personal - there are definitely situations, especially with the last year and a half we've all been living through, that people do genuinely come up against the wall with things. I am not saying there is an excuse, again, no frame of reference, but at least to say that it is always best to first try and work things out, if you can. Reach out to the seller, maybe a third party/someone else who knows them, and give it your best. Whatever the case, I hope you are able to work this out, and either get your toy delivery arranged or figure out a refund.
And you can always name and shame this person, it happens in the past... Nothing better than a good old onlline lynching!!
It's been pretty boring around here lately, so I'm all for a good name and shame! Although it usually ends up with half the board saying how their transactions went great and what a swell guy/gal/everything in between they are and the other half saying they're the bastard spawn of Adolf and Osama!
