Oh shit almost forgot!!!!! Man I wish this would be a year around thing. My local supermarket, Wegmans, only gets one shipment of these as I found out the hard way last year. Previous years I was able to make a second run, but last year I only got three Count Chocula and one Franken Berry. Went back for more a week later and I was SOL. This year I'm going full tilt and getting five of each. Those boxes are tiny now.
Yep, I gotta keep a eye out for these. I'm almost out of all the Cap N Crunch I got to order the retro shirt. Before that It was Quisp for the bobble head. I wish they did more mail orders or actual mascot figures inside the boxes.
Truth time: I hate, and have always hated, all 3. Not the design/characters, LOVED them. Hate the food though, I hate any cereal with chalk in them, I mean "marshmallow's" in them.
I'm really out of the loop with US sugar cereals these days.. Do they only make these for Halloween nowadays??
Ha! I got the Quisp bobble head..it came really quick. My daughter keeps calling it "Quips" ..now for the Crunch shirt!
No, it's just that distribution seems to be spotty/stores seem reluctant to carry all three. In my area (south suburbs of Chicago), most stores only carry one or two of the flavors. I honestly can't recall the last time I saw all three in a store apart from Halloween time.
When I worked at a grocery store many moons ago only the Count was carried year round. MAYBE I'd see Frankenberry around at other locations. Boo was ONLY around Halloween, if at all.
I would like to see a resurgence of Fruity Yummy Mummy and the Fruit Brute! FYI, Boo Berry turns your poop green...
Good im not the only freak that gets pumped for Halloween starting on sept. 1st. I already hit up about 7 halloween stores and just cruised Targets halloween area that just got up in the past two days : P As for the cereals being year around, I believe 2011 is the beginning of these cereals only being available for a few months around Halloween season and then pulled for the rest of the year: : "Beginning in 2011, Frankenberry, Boo Berry, and Count Chocula cereals will be manufactured and sold only for a few months during the fall/Halloween season. These cereals will not be made and sold the rest of the year (General Mills representative[who?][where?] on June 15, 2011). "
http://www.crossroads-market.com/hard-t ... o/HFCE170/ You can buy it online through several places year round if you don't mind shipping. I still love these cereals. O yea, who has a Frankenberry Fungah for me?
so has any one cracked open there frankenberry or booberry yet?I got a box of each and unless I got some clunkers it seems the recipe has changed for the worse, very little flavor and the marshmallows just kinda disolved into the milk
you can distract your children with these as you eat their cereal... from thinkgeek: The original dye lot that gave Franken Berry its signature color didn't break down in the body, which caused many parents to call their pediatricians wondering why their tyke's poop was bright pink. There was even a name for it: "Frankenberry Stool." Larry Kenney, the voice of Count Chocula, was also the voice of Lion-O in the original ThunderCats. Older and wiser, he voices Lion-O's dad Claudus in the new ThunderCats. Bob McFadden, the voice of Franken Berry, was another ThunderCats veteran, voicing Lynx-O, Snarf, and Slythe. Paul Frees, the voice of Boo Berry, was uncredited as the voice of K.A.R.R. in the "K.I.T.T. vs. K.A.R.R." episode of Knight Rider. He also voiced several Tolkien characters in the Rankin Bass versions of The Hobbit and Return of the King. Fruity Yummy Mummy and Fruit Brute were original members of the Monsters of Cereal line, but were discontinued. Perhaps it had something to do with the lime flavored marshmallows?
