Tried for a couple but my heart's been mostly in the pink. No dice, but hey, I have nothing to really complain about

It took me a while but I was finally able to score a couple of these.

I got a painted and a blank and I gotta say I love how they work together. The painted is a lot more playful. Death should not scare you as it is inevitable but the blank is just creepy as fuck

I do have to say though I REALLY wish the hands were jointed. That's my biggest complaint (besides most of these not ever hitting stateside) because it greatly inhibits playability with the scythe

yea to be honest I have all but given up on this toy. It seems like since five points 2018 the US market has been mostly forgotten. Which his right to sell as he wants but it for sure has made me lose interest in the product.

Been trying to get one since the blank black release, and have been very unsuccessful haha. Like you said Mikee, its definitely made me lose interest simply due to the fact that it seems almost impossible to get one. Still love the toy, and maybe one day one will stumble upon me.

I think it honestly comes down meeting Ishi at a show, getting a tattoo done, getting some on the aftermarket, OR having a friend who's done one of those and is kind enough to pass a toy onto you. Purely anecdotal but the guys winning lotteries seem to have either met him, or already got a toy through a different channel and posted pics. You need a stroke of luck or serious determination to have your lottery application DMs read at all.

Id honestly take a tattoo from him over the toy, but that's not easy to come by either.

As mentioned in my DCon haul thread, Ishi - San released three runs of Karma Dokuro and three ones offs. 15 total. Five painted white, five painted blue, two painted brown, and three one offs. I had my fingers crossed for the white version, but opened my bag to the blue. I'm extremely happy regardless to be able to add another to the collection at all, so I have *zero* complaints.

Great shot of this guy. He’s a decent size judging by the pics I’ve seen of it. Really like how smooth he is. Bad ass little Reeper

You know I gotta say as a PSA to board members and strangers alike: DO NOT FORCE THE SCYTHE INTO THE DOKURO’S HANDS.

Yeah, I did that and scuffed the paint on both the hands and sycthe a little. So have a few other people I know. Either keep that shit seperate or blowdry the hands to open em up a bit more. I mean it seems common sense in retrospect but hindsight’s always 20/20 and you just assume the fucking things meant to fit. Just a word to the wise who don’t really get to see this brought up in between comments on IG. If anything, it looks like Rob has the right idea in his pics.

@skaldavsatanssol I found this out the hard way with my first painted release(black). I thought the scythe handle was pulled in brown vinyl, and boy, did I learn that shit wasn’t the case the hard way. Haven’t done it since.

The scythe tends to fuck off in a multitude of directions if you try to rest it against the hands, rather than have Dokuro hold it, due to the weight of the blade. I’ve managed my workarounds. The peg grip can fit into the right hand, while the bottom half of the “wood” can essentially wedge itself into the left hand, without actually sitting *in the hand, as seen in the second photo. I wrote out way too much of an explanation.

I mean it’s OK because as mentioned the aesthetic damage is minimal unless properly inspected but yeah best practice is to avoid doing this at all costs. I might pose mine as per your tips now haha! I honestly do wish he made this more public knowledge because if I were to put a number on it I know of at least 4 people affected and with your story regarding your first blank version? 5 now. These things are done in pretty limited runs too so if we knew all affected and the ratio of scuffs next to proud owners then I’m betting it’s substantial. Also the paints fantastic so it’s kinda a shame for any of it go to waste.

I do the same thing with the peg grip...
But how did you get it to float on his back?

Yeah, don't try to make him "hold" the scythe unless you want to fuck it up. This figure simply isn't designed that way and to Robert's point the hand just sort of stops the scythe from flipping over rather than being held

The only gripe I have about the Karma Dokorou is that the paint aplications seem really delicate. My red one from last year has a couple scratches on his paint despite careful handling. Is that still the case?

Then that's a serious design oversight

From what I understand the paint rubbing could be remedied with different vinyl choices. That makes it the sort of thing one has license to screw up once or twice before adjusting.
