pfft. i don't think so. i wish i could afford the madone, the retail on the regular model is around $10k, so this probably at least doubles the price. lance is a huge art collector, so the collaboration defintely makes sense.
Looking forward to seeing! It's been years since I've done any biking, but I've been thinking of picking up a cheapie for cruising around to the neighborhood bars this summer, and maybe commuting to work. Anybody here ride single/fixed speed (Joel?)? I like the idea of low cost/weight/maintenance but I'm a pretty big sissy these days and don't know if I can get away with just a single gear ratio. I've seen some pre-built bikes for $250 - $350...are they even worth considering? I'd love to build my own but I'm sure it'd come in higher than these pre-builts.
Real nice, but I still prefer the 24" hybrid that KAWS worked on with Bebike awhile back . . . even though the spec was pretty lame.
I know KAWS doesn't always go over well here but I truly love his stuff. I like this bike, not one of my favorites but I definitely don't think it sucks.
I don't care for his stuff much mostly due to his background as a graffitti 'artist'. Living in LA, you grow tired of seeing that shit on walls and stuff. But at the same time, I appreciate the story....kid starting out as a graffitti artist making it to the big time selling expensive toys and holding gallery shows.....
Yeah, I was pretty pleased with it myself, I might post it everytime theres a new Kaws collabo thread.
There's a Barry McGee one too! [ack] I'd just hang it on the wall... couldn't imagine actually riding this on the streets.
Trek bikes in general suck...they might be loading them with better kit nowadays but they're not worthy of the price tag. As an interesting collab it's fine as i guess none of them will actually get riden in anger so no one will appreicate it shortcomings as a bike.
Yeah... I can see that lasting, oh say 10 minutes parked outside before its history. You'd have to invest in one of these:
i like it, would look much better if there wasnt any of those chomper teeth on the bike frame, they look good on the tires, but not on the frame
