The first version in other post was called "babau", posted months ago. Now I tried to resculpted it into separate pieces. What do you think of it? Now I try to make the resin mold... but I do not know where to start,...anyone knows where to find tutorials to learn, where to buy rubber molding, resin (clear too)? thanks! http://www.flickr.com/photos/40127331@N04/4882394792/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/40127331@N04/4882394798/in/photostream/
The new sculpt looks really nice! I think this tutorial is pretty close to the way i do it. http://www.danperezstudios.com/workshoppages/molding_casting.htm Find a supplier with Smooth-on products.
Lots of super-expressive character on this dude, always a good thing. He's got some funky monster joy about him, and the l'il fly is a great detail.
thanks Paul, well explained ... but very complex! I hope to be able congratulations on your elephant demon, I want it! precision in all that sculpted ... how do you create so smooth surfaces?
thanks for appreciation I wanted to sculpt a lot of flies but they are complicated to do. ... and this fly is not done as I wanted it.
Very cool. Your sculptures keep getting better. When it comes to smoothing. with sculpey or polymer clay there are a few options. you can smooth the clay with turpentine before it's baked. After it's baked you can get fine grade steel wool for quick easy sanding. I don't think you need to do any of that though. I like your textures. Good luck with the molding/casting.
