Even though I won’t get it (space issues mostly), I think it looks super cool!

I'm a big fan of jumbos, but I'm not really feeling this one. :|

I think the proportions are more akin to Machinder bootlegs than the original product line, while the head looks a bit too Cartoon Network (The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy came to mind).

I enjoy the concept art seen in this photo more than the final product.

Putting my biases aside, I believe it should be an exciting release for anyone who's a fan of MOTU and Shogun Warriors.

I agree 100% I thought the same thing about the head. You nailed it on grim adventures for sure. At first I thought this was a super 7 collab and was like "Why this so cartoony".

I kinda love it. I don't know that I'll buy it but I'm glad to know that I live in a world where it exists.

I think a lot of this sort of thing is scraping the bottom of the barrel, but according to some people my opinions about expensive toys are toxic so who cares what I think ...

This is pretty interesting, but I echo some of the other thoughts here. I mean, if you are going to make a jumbo, ya sort of have to go all out and make a jumbo, you know? It's definitely not terrible, and I would certainly enjoy it regardless I am sure if someone gave one to me, but I am guessing they did this because of price point? Let's be honest though, we are still a ways off from the new shows, and nearly any MOTU toy these days is going to be almost certainly 90% adopted by a nostalgic adult market only, so go on. The face (and aesthetic) is very CN-y for sure, and again, if this is to tie in with the new stuff then I guess I can understand it. But, as a big fan of jumbos anyways, with so many amazing other sources for inspiration available, just give me some other super cool giant robots, knowwhatImean? That is after all where the inspiration for making them jumbo comes from. The accessories (rockets, chageable fists, etc.) doesn't translate that well to other characters IMO. I mean, the Star Wars guys were great, but I think even as a massive fan, I fully acknowledge that it never quite reaches the same degree (with colour, parts, design, etc.) as with the Go Nagai stuff. And I think also why even with that huge license they were really limited to just doing the two figures (and variants), which worked to varying degrees. So mainly I guess my issue is a general lack of jumbos out there, as opposed to finding any flaws with this particular guy. But anyways, big Skeletor looks like fun and I salute Ruben and the team for this effort. I am sure it will get bought up by fans regardless.

    Agreed on many points.

I understand the majority of collectors outside Japan have probably never seen characters beyond what were produced for the Shogun Warriors line. Because of that, I think the design makes sense for the western market and it's been well tailored for profit. But official non-super robot jumbos do exist (Kamen Rider, Ultraman). I wonder if Skeletor may have benefited from some of the same treatments those tokusatsu heroes received. I don't mind the mixed/recycled parts bootleg aesthetic, but I do think those "Popeye" legs are ill-fitting.

If I'm really being a stickler, it's all wrong because villains should be made in sofubi. ;)

this is totally lame to me. mattel came in and took the motu license back from super7 after they revived it...now they are taking some of the unique toy dna away from what super7 is known for? they should have just partnered directly with s7 on this and it would have been done so much better.

oh no... as a die hard skeletor fan I usually welcome any skeletor toy just because it is him but this one... this looks absolutely horrible... it looks like it jumped out of a Ben 10 cartoon. If they are aiming for kids who watched cartoons in the 90s then I guess it will work but what do kids from 90s know about the awesome 80s sho gun warriors? this is so sad.
