yep, the first VP release. one of my all time favs. iconic toy, always gets a place on the top shelf.
BARUZASU does rule! I've wanted for a long time. I held my first one (Thanks Grace! ) at ICFSB...A classic! I love seeing Frank's name again here as the author of this thread...I lurked for a long time and loved his usually quite humorous posts! Franks got the giant BARUZASU too
I don't remember seeing it when it was first posted, but yamuel's collection is so great. I could almost, almost give up collecting sofubi and just collect cheap, bootleg-y, grossout little toys for the rest of my days. Seriously incredible.
that really is a great shelf. I see a couple of toys in there that look like madball bootlegs, only on a smaller scale...
Love this group--Baruzasu is exceptional. And to add that the light is just right giving it a dark green, grimy feeling.
thanks Jay. and that's not the light on baruzas giving the grimy feel, that's the millimeter thick coating of cigarette gunk that's stuck to him from winning it on YJA. kidding, I managed to clean that completely off.
Funny you had to mention this...I was bidding on a loose Baruzasu (this same piece) and was a bit concerned of how it would smell like.
I understand that sometimes you may get a toy with a little smoke odor, vinyl absorbs it easily, but some toys I've gotten from YJA have been so completely yellow and sticky with nicotine that the amount of smoke it must take to get them so gross is just mind boggling.
The Baruzasu is awesome, but who made that Gamera? I don't see a whole lot of Gamera love around here. Come on, people! He's a flying turtle for crying out loud. What's not to love?
