Found On http://www.vinylpulse.com/2009/03/proto-monday-moon-claw.html#more I'm lovin this sculpt!!! I must own one.
Now this, this is a figure. Amazing. I was just talking about Dr. Strange last week; how they haven't released anything in a while. Then they drop this bomb... Totally love the slime texture, LOVE the teeth, love the mismatched arms and love the mouth (?) in the belly. Definite must have.
Really cool sculpt. Totally agree with Velocitron. The gnarly teeth remind me of the monster in the Deep Space movie.
Yes this piece owns. I love EVERYTHING about this piece. Can't wait to see colors on this. If it looks great unpainted the colors are going to set it off!! I keep coming back just to look at it.
Pretty cool. This sculpt has a real Blobpus/Target Earth feel to it IMO. Here's an image of another proto with a similar feel as well. Not sure where things are at with this piece though.
This looks like a tribute to Lovecraft's Cthuhlu. The Moon Claw definitely has the Dream Rocket feel - I am getting a Vinyl Junkie vibe off of it - the kind of front slouch like the viking skulls and the pumpkin heads.
Lots of eyes and teeth! Very cool. The legs seem like they may not match the rest of the sculpt though? They're hairy and the rest is very reptilian or bug-like... will have to see it painted, but I think I really like it.
Definitely one of the more interesting things (especially in the realm of smaller figures) I've seen in a while; I was just thinking the other day that most of the newer stuff that people go nuts over really does nothing for me. Articulation looks to be great, and though there are reference points it's got a really unique feel. It even looks great without paint - not something I say frequently.
Cool, what is Dr Strange, I'm guessing a toy store and not really toy producer, I did a google search couldn't find their website? Do they have one?
I kind of dig it, but the posture is really weird. I get the Vinyl Junkies feel as well, along with DxSxHx's Radd (which I love). I will wait to see how the first release turns out before making judgement, though.
The Cthulhu looks sick, too. Why always Cthulhu, though? No love for Dagon? Maybe a Shuggoth or Elder Thing? Not complaining, but the other gibbering madnesses deserve some time in the spotlight as well.
