Ugh... how disappointing. 25 years of VMAs, and this train wreck was the best they could cobble together? Could there possibly have been a more obviously fixed award show beyond the Golden Globes when Pia Zadora won? (yeah, I know I'm dating myself with that one). Horrible host. Horrible venue. Horrible acts. Painfully awful.
I held out hope that since it was the 25th VMAs, they'd actually put some effort into it... I was wrong.

I didn't see it yet. We get an encore performance of it on Thursday. Isn't the host from "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"? He was pretty damn funny in that movie. At least I thought he was.
The bands they hype on MTV all suck, so how could an 'award' show about them *not* suck? Hate to repeat myself, but can't MTV just go away, already??
MTV shows videos???? I stopped watching the VMAs long ago. The new videos (that I've seen when I had cable) on MTV really don't do anything for me anymore--especially if the music sucks balls to begin with.

Russell Brand is a twat. But from what I saw he was pretty fuckin funny. I watched hoping Metallica would play or at least show up. They didn't. They knew better. I thought it all sucked. All the acts sucked. The host sucked. Lil' Wayne or whatever his name is sucked. Always with his hand on his sack. Sold a million records in a week - huh? Who the fuck listens to this shit. Kid Rock sucked...stupid ass song..."smoking different things".... No wonder our kids are all fucked up. I normally don't get involved in these types of discussions but I think MTV is one of the problems with America. Promoting drugs, sex, and just being retarded (wasn't Paris Hilton there?). Who the fuck does the host think he is coming to America and telling us who to vote for? Take that shit to the Middle East. Ughhhh MTV still does this? MTV still exists? I remember watching the first MTV VMA awards when Duran Duran was on and Madonna was all over the stage with "Like a Virgin". I'm getting old.... these damn kids
