Hey whatever floats your boat man
Always liked how this pic came out. Love these marbles
You’ve taken some great photos with them !
Thanks so much! I really am happy when other can enjoy my photographs.
I have had a lot of fun getting into toy photography since I joined IG. Maybe I'll consider getting some real equipment in the future too, but I know it's how you use it that counts for more than anything. For starters though, I just bought a tripod.
That’s kinda what I did. Bought a decent camera not top end but not low either. Found two lenses that captured what I was going for. And a tripod to help long exposure shots clean. Then just thought myself. I’m far from good, but can generally get a photo I’m happy with. You should do the same, it’s quite enjoyable.
Enjoy these toys. I think there is some ball breaking on SB which was pretty funny at times, the the overall feelings that matter most is enjoy what you own the way you want.
What kind of lenses would you say benefit toy photos the most? I know you can also buy high quality glass lenses for phone cameras as well now too.
I've also been considering a light cube for night shots, and a photo booth. Truth be told I am leaning away from the photo booth because I prefer outdoor photography. Everyone can take a shot in a studio when they don't have to worry about light. And I think beautiful backgrounds are where toy photography can really shine, at least that's how I view my best photos.
The camera is a little trickier. Since phone cameras are quite good now, I think you have to spend a fair bit of money (I could be totally wrong). More importantly, need to learn how to properly use a camera and all the features within. Even the best camera won't be much of an improvement if I can't properly grasp how to take advantage of it.
And I appreciate your thoughtfulness. I am not worried about what happened yesterday. As far as the more direct comments, I just try to not let it get to me, because nobody is worth it if they are putting me down and trying to sour my happiness. Moreso if it's only thru a computer screen and not in person.
I love the toys I collect, and am grateful for each and every one of mine and the people that I have got them from. Many have a story with how I got them, which makes them close to my heart. I am thankful that I have a job that allows me to spend so much on toys and still live comfortably. I have nothing but positive messages to share regarding my collecting. After all, I'm in this hobby to bring joy to my life, which is how it should be. I won't let anything or anyone spoil that for me
Get a room!
I'll show you a good time, Andy
i think this is the only thing that hurts me sometimes (knowing god damn well its none of my business). if the run size was huge, i see no problem with some kustomz, but when theres barely any to go around its like oh sick my chances of getting one down the road are significantly less. so many artists get their start customizing others’ figures but its not always on rare figures or stripping someone elses’ work to flex their lil brush. im at work man idk i just read some stuff and fr thanks for keeping sb spicy i love reading yalls thoughts
WOOHOO!!! I’m so hyped to share this.
So happy for you Bradley. I know you have wanted your first DX for a while. And it's a damn good one!!!
those charms are a very nice touch. Lovely color scheme as well.
Purely anecdotal but it makes me happy how many DX from the last drop seem to have gone to first-time owners.
Well after all that lively discussion last week, of course I must share the custom paint in question here.
Painted by Recyclec. I'm thrilled with how it came out! I think it is a unique style that works really nicely on the Krampus. That was just so fast though! He told me that the figure was so beautiful that he just had to paint it when he got it.
Also, nice guess Taviq! @taviq
I’ve always liked his customs. Excellent color choices and painting techniques. This came out fantastic. Enjoy !
It looks fantastic ! Congrats!
Whatever happened to the Sludge Fighter? Did it get any online releases or was it only at shows?
I think there was literally the one release. Maybe one-offs too? But I've never seen any.
I haven’t been able to get more. I’ve tried getting ahold or Mori in so many ways and so far nothing. I have some in my shop, thank god I decided to hord them. Because I have no clue if I’ll ever see any more. I wish I had more of an answer. I will say Mori has said multiple times yes he’ll get me more, but it never happens.
I hope so, I really liked that thing.
I’m not gonna lie, been dying 2 get 1 since that first DV show. I regrettably passed, holding out for a brighter colorway. I still got some cool toys tho, don’t get it twisted. Damn that was a great show!
Damn, that sucks. That body was a great fit. Will we see the sludge fighter head on other stuff?
Hyped for another shot at Leviathan! That big nasty bastard will be mine!
You and every other MVH toy collector
I absolutely loved the red and black paint job. I wanna say that was sent to an Australian toy show?
I also saw the yellow one which was more colorful and lighthearted. Reminded me of a Street Fighter 2 type color
