@TattooDougHardy - I received the "pure vinyl collection" (PVC) gojira:

The vinyl is translucent and feels very soft and squishy!

It almost feels like a soft sports toy you could play catch with. Perhaps the Booska. ;) It might be fun to let this guy bounce around the house for some kaiju play-time with the younger kids in the family, or it could also look interesting with custom paint. I haven't decided yet, but either way I'm not going to hide it in the dark. I want to see the color changes over time.

What the hell guys?! Damn it! You guys know how much I wanted the reissue of the GID Zazahn to look like the original Bullmark version right? I only moaned about it here:

    http://skullbrain.org/bb/index.php?threads/new-bullmark-marusan.45939/page-4

But today I peeped Mandarake and saw the very reissue I always hope would be remade sold! What the hell a heads up perhaps lol?! Anyhow if one is spotted in the wild or someone wants to trade this new reissue for the rainbow version that first came out (I have one) please let me know.

Yeah, tell me about it man. I couldn't believe when I got up this morning and saw that that sold. Very stoked for this reissue, and edges out even the pretty amazing GID release from 2015. I am hoping, since these are just new, a few more will work their way into the market though, so don't lose hope. The Bullmark pre-order for them (more info here on the Sofvi Tokyo blog) only ended last month, so I am surprised that they have already been shipped (and re-sold). Fingers crossed we can each come across one of these in due course, cause it is such a lovely looking toy, and there's almost no way most of us would get access to a vintage version.

I always appear to visit Mandarake at the most inconvenient times. Although I will say I'm surprised the lot of Fivestar stuff they have hasn't sold out. Very tempting.

I'll keep an eye out for ya. I've been religiously refreshing Mandarake for a week now.

Very very nice. Translucent white has a very classy appeal to it. I got my sights set on the new 450 "Hong Kong appearance" Godzilla as my first Godzilla. Crossing my fingers my guy comes through or else I'll have to pay out the butt. It's a shame many of Marusan's great stuff can't be shipped internationally due to licensing agreements.

@decypher - That new DesuGoji-inspired 450 Godzilla would be a great one to add to your collection. It sure looks like a beauty!

The description sounds like it's made from the same translucent "pure vinyl" as I the one I posted, which is a very soft and unique vinyl in hand. I hope you are able to land one.

It's a beauty and now that you told me that I'm far more interested. I just love how the colors blend with the white. For those that don't know it's named after the Godzilla that appeared near Hong Kong in "Godzilla VS Destroya" in 1995

I saw it in person at Super Festival and it is glorious! The translucent paints over raw vinyl looks amazing!

Are you fucking kidding me part 2?!!! So now a reissue removable mask Ultraseven is being made for a Sogo Chiba store opening? Was sold this past week. Anyone in Japan near there want to help a brother out? Paypal ready!

Yeah that is the same one I mentioned here, Lixx. I was trying hard to get one, and brought it up to try and see if I could somehow swing a favour from someone there. Heck, the event itself I think would have been pretty fantastic to attend. It was an anniversary event set up as a pop-up shop that actually lasted a couple weeks as I recall correctly (and I think just ended). Unfortunately, the resale on them - even while the event was still ongoing - was verging on ridiculousness. It is such an amazing figure, and chance to knock off a looong time want as a fan of the vintage line. I am still hoping that they will pop up in the future; and I don't think, while it was a exclusive release, that the numbers were actually that limited for them (at least, relatively to such things), so hopefully there is some fortune for us ahead.

^ I always get a kick out of the Marusan kaiju videos. Toys should be played with, and they really show how to do it up proper!

Booska/Busuka fans: the first painted edition of the 450 size figure is available for international pre-order:

I came here to say I secured the 450 hong kong appearance Godzilla and unless it blows up in transit it should be here by Sept . But now i'm reminded of this booska ahhh, I'm gonna have to think of something to swing that after these purchases I made.

BTW Giant Gorilla was pushed back to beginning of July instead of end of June for anyone who ordered.

I just bit the bullet and went with a 3rd party middleman for the OG Glow Zazahn and Removable Mask Ultraseven. I mean it was simple with math- Original vintage combined price would probably be close to $3000, where as the exchange rate is nicer these days and the reissues will cost me like $175. I mean being a vintage collector I'd love the originals but try finding them and coming up with that coin. I can't miss out just because there is no direct overseas ordering, nor am I in the mood to wait for jacked up aftermarket prices! Thanks @analog101

The Glow Zazahn looks pretty exact (except the eye color is gold as opposed to the vintage silver) but I only wish the reissue Ultraseven had a removable mask similar to the original (this one looks more like the 450 style mask). Let's compare:
    Reissue/Vintage:

Maybe I'm overthinking it but the mask definitely looks wider on the vintage (or it's stretched out). I like the fat head look.

Vombie is going to love that booska. For some reason I thought the 450 series was larger then 11 inches.

I'm digging the new marusan 450 stuff. I've always liked king joe, so I'm happy to have found one of these for the collection. Weirdly, I have not grabbed the new Booska as of yet. I really want a painted glow version, or something unusual if not that.

The 450 Giant Gorilla has landed and he's very happy as you can see. Also a GID Bondora.

Very nice! This colourway of the Marusan 450 Gorilla looks superb!! I'm still waiting on mine, so can't wait to see it in hand. Then I will have 3 x 450 Gorillas (I'm building an army!) The Marumon is cute!

Nice I got another brown 450 with the Goro face. The difference between the two is the head and also Giant Gorilla has a buttplug where his tail would have gone haha. Although this makes it better for shelving more Giant Gorillas lol. I'm still hoping they'll do a clear painted version one day.

There are two versions of the brown 450 Goro. One is mainly brown, and the other is brown with some metallic blue and gold sprays. Which is the version you have? I've got the version which is metallic blue all over. The other difference between Goro and the Giant Gorilla is the hands. Goro has open hands whereas the Gorilla has fist hands

@decypher - The 450-size Giant Gorilla looks excellent. I really like the blue and silver highlights on the vinyl. Congrats on picking one of those up. Looks like the towering ape is ready to slam down those large fists!

Plenty of new stuff from Marusan again this month, and I like the look of the "ghost" Hedorah and MechaG from the promo video. They are also featured on Kaminaga-san's Instagram account:

    [IMG][IMG]

They look similar to the "pure vinyl collection" figures. Unfortunately, most of these are for sale in Japan only due to licensing restrictions.
