Update on the bbcode/image problem - this can possibly go in the broken category.

So I updated my sales thread (http://skullbrain.org/bb/index.php?threads/new-toys-added-31-5-elegab-jetturre-sunguts-m1.50817/) - I went to edit the first post to change the thread title and I couldn't do that (but that's another issue altogether). Anyway - by going into the edit window for the first post it naturally converted my image links into code text. I clicked save because I couldn't edit the thread title and it seems to me that the original bbcode which worked on the old forum was re-saved into this new format - causing all of the image bbcode to become broken.

Hope this helps solve the issue?

    Easier just to remember who I 'like' . . . it's a way shorter list! ;)

@badteethcomics i need to spend more time figuring out why it doesn't work. For now use standard IMG tags. This board shrinks larger images somewhat.

@hellointerloper That's something that previous KR forum members have asked for in the past, but I think it ends up being a cluttered mess that's too hard to navigate.

I really liked getting an email, whenever someone replied to a thread I was subscribed to.

Is there a way to set up Conversations so the most recent responses will appear first and the older responses will appear below it? This was the way it was on the legacy board and was an awesome time saver.

If for some reason, this question was already answered please let me know.
    Thank You

So no bookmarks and pm's are now 'conversations' ? Not really happy about that as now I have to go find the email I sent myself just to access those threads because I've always loathed the search feature here- even if I specify a certain forum, put quotations around certain words it still rarely gave me what I was looking for. I found the bookamrks feature was one of the ones I used the most on old SB. Definitely change the color of the names under the avatar. That grey is almost invisible

Ultrakaiju makes a good point RE: the conversation vs PM route. It was quite helpful when you could tell if someone had/hadn't read a PM. Plus being able to go back and make changes/retract PMs if they hadn't been read yet. These PM features were advantageous. Hopefully, there is a way to embed them into the new Conversation system.

@Lixx if you have your bookmarks saved from the old forum, I'd recommend opening them here and then "watching" them. Then you can check your "watched threads" section, and it'll all be in one place.

As feedback, I am loving this new thing. Lots of features and new icons to use. I find it that it has as much usage from the older board with improved user experience. Getting emails to work took me a second, but I figured it out. I also love that the page numbers go away and clutter the view less when you are not hovering a thread title.

thanks @TiredChildren James for the great work!

Now, onto find threads to post in. I need to live up to my '11 boardhog pedigree.

I changed the email method and address for the board today, can you guys let me know if you're not getting emails or if they're going to spam?

Mine were coming in fine, but, oddly enough, one just landed in my spam folder approximately 2 minutes ago.

^ I received email notification of your reply to me in the proper place. Deborked?

Speaking of borks, I unintentionally bumped an old thread of mine a little while ago. I know it's been asked about already, but I haven't seen the answer yet: Is our inability to delete our own messages before the next reply is added a matter of site permissions; or simply something that's not allowed / possible in this fresh skin of ours?

EDIT: Missed a d above. Now you know.

I'm still trying to figure that out. This forum software doesn't have the option of "delete your own post only if nobody has replied yet." It's either delete your post whenever you want, or not at all. I'll probably set it so everyone can delete their own posts whenever, I'm just hoping to find some way to get it the way it was on the old forum.

I do not like this at all. I hate the 'mobile' feel where everything is a god damn pop up window or invisible till you roll over with the mouse and it appears. It's annoying as shit. I never understood why programmers think this is actually useful. Not singling you out James, just a pet peeve. Talk about clutter? Yeah it's virtual clutter where I have to do an extra step to get what I want instead of "oh wait there is page 73 let me just click on it".

James- so watched threads is the new bookmarks? I was wondering that- is there a limit? Says latest 20 threads when clicked.

That limit might be pulling from the board-wide setting of showing 20 threads per page. I'll see if that can be increased or if there's something else limiting that.

James, I'm doing the click on the bookmarks in my email, save as a watched thread now. Seems to be working fine. It initially just showed the first one I saved but there is a buttom to 'show all'. Sorry I'm not trying to piss all over your work. Obviously you've done quite a bit and it's appreciated. I'm just extra grumpy today and not a fan of pop ups, invisible text roll overs etc. Site will just take much getting used to.

Watched Threads seems to be filling in for subscriptions just fine. The frustrating part, for me, is that the bookmark option allowed me to keep track of a much smaller pool of threads - a random conversation from 2007, toy DBs, etc - without having to search or scroll. Not a huge loss, of course, just another mild inconvenience to get used to.

I feel you on the pop-ups, Chris. For example, if you want to find a friend follower, rather than just being able to scan a handy list on the left of the screen, we now have to open up a window, click through to 'show all,' but 'all' is only a certain number at a time, so that can be a whole lot of screens to click through to get from, say, akum6n to TiredChildren. Not being able to swiftly add people to PMs conversations is something that I'll miss as well.

All that said, the autocomplete system for names is quite handy, so it will just be a matter of adjusting to taking care of such searches and tasks using that method instead.

    Hi, Andy!

I'm still getting used it. It would be great to see fi someone could just delete useless and irrelevant 'discussions'. Mainly talking about ones that are really old like...
    http://skullbrain.org/bb/index.php?threads/pre-turkey-day-sb-sale.307/
    http://skullbrain.org/bb/index.php?threads/they-do-not-come-in-peace.484/

Once everything gets ironed out it would be nice to see
American Idols changed from KAWS, Mr. Kozik, Pushead, Le Merde, "art toys"
    to
American Idols Pushead, MVH, PK, SPLURT, COPASQUAT or something. Kozik and Kaws? Seem completely irrelevant.
