Just got these in the mail today.. didn't notice in photos last week but now that it's in hand - Deathra has a new sculpt
The old arm pose is different to start with see here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=45658&hilit=gargamel+resin+visual
Does anyone out there know if there is a reason why we haven't seen a regular release for the standard Deathra yet or even a new standard Zagoran for over two years? I honestly would have thought by now that we would at least see some more exclusives maybe a super7 exclusive to match the classic amber versions or even better a Hawaii. I absolutely love Gargamel and I'm sure there are others out there who really miss the simple spray classic releases of a few years back. I would say Koji's recent Toycon Zagoran proves that we all still want more. It was a big hit, I tried and failed to score one and they sold out in a flash. I Just want to let them know that we miss their toys, the classic Zags and Deathras. I'm going to make a list here, I don't know if they will see it but I'm not going to send it to them. If they are interested in taking notice then that's great, if not then I guess we can continue to be patient. Standard Zagoran 1.GoldenArmKid Standard Deathra 1.GoldenArmKid
Yes It was great! I mentioned above that the success of that release proves that collectors are still excited about new releases of the older Gargamel toys.
Ahhh, thought you guys meant compared to the Standard Vinyl version, not the previous resin incarnation! But yes, this sculpt is definitely more like a mini Vinyl version. You can put me on that list, Deathras are so expensive compared to most Zags... would love to be able to have one in my collection and be able to afford it without putting a less-than-necessary dent in my wallet. Retail releases sound like my only hope at this point!
Between lucky bags, show exclusives, and 1off shows, in my opinion gargamel still puts out great and accessible releases at a variety of price points. Albeit less than A few years back but still plenty for collectors to hunt
True, I guess I am the minority being outside of USA & Japan and not having the same access to the show related releases.
I came upon this in my Instragram travels posted to someones page and I had more questions than answers... actually I have no answers and would love to know when this Dokuro-Man in the back right with the insert came out I MUST track down this new version!!! (by the way if I need to credit who I snagged the pic from I'll gladly update my post.. just wasn't sure of the correct etiquette since the photo was not taken from this board)
Very funny! I'm sure that'll be the case.. If they even make it to SDCC this year which is more what I was getting to. Last I heard they were still moving the studio/looking for a new space.
They'll probably share some space with Grass Hut again this year. They seem to make it every year regardless. The only reason to attend in my opinion.
