Hypebeast should stick to their monkey avatars and shitty shoes. not a good look seeing them soft-bees on those platforms already
@Anti Social Andy ha ha, agreed all round. Was annoyed they had lumped them in as a set. The kun on its own would probably have been an easier pickup/less hype (I dont really get Verdy). Also had zero interest in the Vick fig and couldnt justify the two.
I got to hang out with Verdy a few years ago, back when he was Secret Base's designer (before he moved to BxH). He was a real nice, quiet unassuming guy dancing to his own drum. How he got to where he is now is unbelievable . . . that Nigo light shines real bright! He and Hiddy spent most of their time playing Kancho (only in Japan!)
Because I’m a completist I am telling myself the Verdy figure is by Secret Base in a BXH colour way. This way I can let it pass.
Years ago now he contacted me via Instagram because he saw an embroidered patch I had made and wanted to work on something together. I thought his art back then was rad and put him onto a few manufactures I was using at the time. We never flushed out a design to do together and a few years later he’s big time. I love it, super nice and humble. Congrats to those that work hard and succeed on their own merits!
This is such a great version. Very outside the usual box for Bounty Hunter. Another Sk8Thing collab, I wonder how often now he’ll be at the helm of choosing color scheme? Side note: it’d be a fun for them to release a Frankenstein’s Monster version. Green torso/face, black brains, grey legs and brown feet.
I know the two are not linked in anyway but I had a chuckle when I saw this 2up of an unreleased wwf figure of Tugboat and how much it is like an aged Kid Hunter. It’s owned by Matt Cardona, who was interviewed by an old skullbrainer on his wonderful podcast Running out of Space.
G-damn that's awesome. I wish I could get that, and the previous one I referred to as Andy Mouse. And, and, and...
An Ultraman Skull Kun isn’t something I’d have ever thought want in my collection, but now that I see it I totally want it.
Love it. Absolutely love it. *However*, once I saw the size I decided I didn’t want the homie pickin’ this up for me. Not only is it pricey, but I just don’t need somethin’ that goddamn big in here right now. But it is really, really bad ass.
Yeah, it's enormous! I guess that's fitting given the X-Large collab. But way too big to fit into a collection...those hands alone take up too much space.
Word out that this coming Thursday’s Supreme release includes a BxH collaboration. Figure, ring, clothing. No pics leaked yet. Likely tomorrow.
