I would have to say you might be doing something different 'here', but for the kaiju industry? Not ranking on ya but applying auto paints and pinstripping is not a new 'style' to me if it can be called a style as compared to a method of application. Keep painting, Im sure we would like to see the final pieces.
Today's easy to get toys are tomorrows hard to find because of that attitude. Devilman RxH says hello.
By this time everyone should know what to expect to see in a D.P. thread in this forum. If you find his work such an affront to your sensibilities why do you bother to read it?
It's always seemed to me that he's not participating on this board other than to show his work - which usually seems to be for sale. To be honest, I thought the first few were kinda neat, but they're just the same thing over and over and over again. I would much rather see pieces from people who actively participate on the board, and I'd much rather see pieces with more thought/inspiration behind them. These just seem like exercises in technique than artistic vision. While I could never match his skills in pin striping, I still haven't seen one that had any pin striping that shows more than an ability to have a steady hand. I guess I just don't see why he's using any Japanese figures as a base as opposed to a car fender or a vase. and "kaiju industry"?
The title made me curious. If it said, "More metallic paint customs. I may pinstripe these or sell them as I see fit," I probably would not have clicked. It was also late at night and I was bored.
It is the same attitude that LASH, toybot, and others share. Lets face it, if everyone painted over flesh sets, which everyone seems to agree that they are meant to be painted, they would end up being rare or extinct. If KT stops making Solids and we all paint over those, which everyone also agrees is meant to be painted, they will also be rare or extinct. Red pearl chaos, Rotofugi chaos, people can't seem to sell them for $40 on here, and you're going to cry about not having one when we've all painted over them? They are all limited. Don't like our attitude, get out of this section. QQ
I would much rather have original figures painted in Japan than by some seemingly hotrod or van customizer. The colour changing does nothing to the figures in my view. Ugghhhh. I gotta stay out of this forum...
Try KINYC RxH mini set...they are blank...they are made to be painted. Orange or green Last Legend Pumpkinbrain is pretty blank too...
now now fella's... can't we all just be civilized toy collecting mad men for just a moment... group hug... c'mon now, everybody get in here and show one another some love...!!!
that's like saying, let's have less RxH posts each week or less toys up for sale in the BST each week. This is a dedicated forum specifically for customs. If it pains you so much to look at production toys painted over, then perhaps one just needs to just "look away..." like none of this is really happening. like a bad dream...... end sacastic tone.
