The sculpt zapped all the character out of the original design. And wouldn't it have been easier to use some kid of metallic paint for the top of the can, instead of those poorly done reflection lines? And I think it's $85 for that thing.

SDCC exclusive from Gentle Giant. It's scanned from the original Kenner 3.75" action figure and then reproduced to a fully articulated 12" tall figure.

It's a giant action figure. i'm not sure how I feel about it. I like it for nostalgia sake, but then I don't like it cause it's 12" tall and looks out of proportion.

It's actually made of plastic, not resin and it's a fairly cheapish like black supermarket bag plastic. It's bendable a little and really shows off the details of the sculpt well because it's fairly shiny. I got to see one of the regular white-eyed Lurkers the other day at MPH, they have one in their display case and he's pretty nifty for his price (think it was $40?) and it's a good sized piece too at about 5". That Lurker wolf is pretty nifty looking too, I may have to pick one up for the glowy mouth.

This thread is depressing...with the ante upped by that god awful Obey figure. The Soto figure had potential but it's missing something and the Skinner figs look like $10 toys from Forbidden Planet.

If it wasn't Skinner most people would ignore it and pray it goes away.

    No.

So...those skinner figures are supposed to be cool, but this dumb spraycan garbage isn't? Nice to have standards...

Oh, alifeintoys, I'm pretty sure that image IS of an original stormtrooper, not the Gentle Giant figure.

The GG Engorged Storm Trooper is biting on S7's work I think, cheap move imo. But it's all the tip of a massive retro Star Wars product wave that'll continue with the next wave of figures coming out, then who knows what else. I'm sure the campaign is mapped out on Hasbro or RebelScum. Depending on your pain-threshold it could be nostalgically fun, or the torture of Lucas scrounging for more paydirt. Lucas should have staged his 'Star Wars/Pink Floyd Space Orchestra' performance at SDCC, never read the numbers on that tour. I however would pay good hard cash to see Miley Cyrus as Bikini Leia w/ Perez Hilton as Jabba.

That 'Mr.Spray' is garbage. But Fairey releases so much stuff, it's a drop in the bucket, and I've come to respect most of his work. All the other little customs and exclusives don't interest me. Seeing variations on the same design over a few years really takes the fun out of seeing an artist develop. The production overhead must be high & risky. Suckadelic always gets my vote. Just picked up a nice Suckadelic trading card at Toy Tokyo...

So is SDCC no longer considered cool with LA glitterati or the porn industry? I guess since they couldn't get Sasha Grey into Transformers 3, the whole toy/movie/comics franchise is over. THX MEGAN FOX u bish!
