That's a first. Here's to progress.
Looks like these are starting to land.. super fast fulfillment of a pre-order!
That GID shot! Feeling some regret but still holding out for a painted version
Bummed I couldn't swing this one, getting married in 6 months, and all of my money goes to that. I wish I could have put it on the gift registry. Very cool sculpt, and it seems huge
It's pretty ridiculous that it's glowing like that out on the street under streetlights/moonlight.. I don't think I've ever seen GID do that.. but if I can remember correctly, the GID pigment used for this is industrial strength, probably developed for construction sites/warning signs etc. so it's not surprising it glows so well outside in the p.m.
You are correct, Glenn. The GID powder mixed with the vinyl is the same used for the GID construction site tape that lines signs and streets. Even the sample we had at the Lulu booth during DCon would glow inside the convention hall on the table. You can legitimately use the figure to read in the dark!
I must admit, this level of GID is brilliant both literally and figuratively
Mine came in a few days ago. Strangely was the first time I've ever been charged customs for sofubi.
People who have had much more hands on experience with vinyl will give you a more educated opinion but this is thing is really, really solid. Compared to Yabanjin, it's taller and much more menacing (not a knock on Yabanjin, it was clearly meant to be kind of cute), but the pour is a lot thicker, the toy stands up much, much better on a shelf and overall feels like a top quality doll.
I originally bought it because the OG Bemon is something I'll never get my hands on, but after getting one I'm dying to see what kind of paint apps and variants are coming. Would love to collect a few more of these.
Are those japanese or chinese vinyl ?
Check out the start of the thread - sculpted by Jetturre and produced by Lulubell
Alright. I'm no expert on Lulubell releases, so I think your answer is "Japanese".
I think this matter will be less and less evident in the near future.
The bottom markings do say it is made in Japan in Japanese. Also Handsome Taro M specifically did the sculpting, not Jetturre.
Yes, the Galligantus was sculpted, and is produced in Japan!
Looking forward to this arriving.
I assume they're shipping them out in chronological order of ordering? Or a better question is, have people received shipping notifications?
Just curious, because based on that logic, I'll be one of the last...which is fine. I just don't need to watch for a box any time soon then.
let me know when you get notified lol, im assuming im like literally the last lol... i ordered with like 10 mins to go lol
I ordered within the first week, still haven't received mine...
A little bit off topic but are these guys actually different? I just assumed it was two different brands for the same guy..
i can't recall when i ordered week wise but i haven't heard/seen anything either. for those who ordered stateside, how did it come? postal service, ups, dhl...?
Yep, Glenn that is better put, "brands". Jetturre for original creations and Handsome Taro M for license copyrighted characters. I was told before they are like separate sculpting studios.
I got an email from Ishmael. I'm assuming this was an automatic mailing list, so a few of us probably got it. This pretty much answered my questions up above and makes perfect sense. That being said, @eckotyper, you and I will definitely be waiting. Might as well get comfy.
I wanted to send a quick note to give you an update on the shipping of your order... if you have already received your toy, please disregard. If not, read on!
Thank you for pre-ordering the Galligantus: Make-A-Monster sofubi figure! Galligantus vinyl has been coming into us from Japan in waves and it is looking great! We have been shipping out orders based on the date they were placed and once your order has shipped, a shipping confirmation with a tracking number will be emailed to you.
As a collector, I can relate to how hard it can be to stay calm when waiting for a pre-order to ship so please let me know if I can answer any other questions! We're confident that the wait for your Galligantus will be worth it, and I truly thank you for your patience!
Just got mine yesterday and it is beautiful. I was planing on building but seeing the packaging. I actually am going to keep this guy sealed up and display with the original famous monsters yearbook that I'm having graded. This also means I have room for either a painted or another blank on the shelf. The vinyl is thick and deff well worth the investment. It's sucks a cool toy and can't wait for more to come out and be availible to everyone. I'm really hoping for a blank blue down the road.
The paint job and helmet/crown accessory are just top notch. Painted by Dski_One and helmet/crown designed and produced by Han Cholo.
Only been a month for me, not like I ordered in November lol, I can wait.
