Those are kinda cool. Reminds me of HULK x [expletive deleted] tho. This is fukin' sick tho! If only I had the dough. http://rotofugi.com/toyscart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=&idproduct=2507
Pretty sure the resins are in conjunction with the 'show' that COARSE is doing there. Would love to see them all in person. Those are some insane prices. The JAWS vinyl is pretty awesome.
You're not kidding they're pricey. I just checked out how much they're going for, and it's just absurd. Who in the hell has that much money to spend on a toy? (Oh, I'm sorry, "art piece").
The one with the ripped off head and blood spraying out is awesome, but I don't collect art, I'm not that fancy. If I did, that'd be one to get though. The rest do nothing for me.
I really like COARSE, but I have to agree. LOT of pretense goes into 5 thousand dollar 12 inch resins, right? I have their 'Flake and Fluid' figure--their first, I think--from years back, and it's awesome. I've got a buddy who recently purchased their 'Chopper' figure (the 1/3 scale one) and it's equally totally freakin awesome. Then there's these resins which completely come from out of the blue on the pricing front. Even the vinyl toy they've got as a part of this show (the jaws one I referenced above...a vinyl recast of one of the resin pieces) is 200 bucks...which is almost as much as the big chopper dude. I'm sure that somewhere somebody is likening this phenomenon to paintings vs. prints, but I just don't see where a spike in price like that is justified. Too bad, too, because again, I really enjoy their aesthetic and production values.
More often then not when you see a big spike in price like that it's because the artist dosen't really want to sell it.
Man that's a high price. It looks like the Artists doesn't care to sell but uses a price tag like that to garner attention. But again if someone forks over that much dough, it's a pretty nice bonus.
