Here is a pic of one of my display cabinets. Filled to capacity with a ton of vintage toys. All collected pre-ebay pre-internet days. I've got another full of vintage cereal boxes and premiums and the newest one is Japanese Vinyl and Kaiju. This one may or may not be of intrest to many here. But I thought I would start at the beggining and work my way up to The Nags, Boogie Men and Pushead Pirates. I will post the other cabinets later. Any questions or if you want to talk older stuff PM me. R.
Nice! I enjoy looking at these kind of collection more than I do kaiju stuff. I want to see the case to the right with all the cereal guys.
Here is a few more pics of some of the cereal stuff by request. I have tons more, especially Monster Cereals, that I can post when I come across the pics or get around to taking new ones. All originals, no repros. Same with the Megos, Universal Monsters and Joes. All great stuff, just not as exciting as it used to be. I'm more down with the Vinyl these days.
Dig the old school cereal boxes/toys. Original mascots/ logos always beat out "new improved" (i.e. crappy logos). I'm old I remember those boxes as a kid. I never knew of a Yummy Mummy though?!
It was Fruit Brute that I totally missed out on when I was a kid. I didn't even know it had existed until I went on an afternoons hunt for info about Franken Berry the other month. The most entertaining thing I learned about FB that day was that it was wildly popular with kids when it first came out for a reason other than taste - the dye General Mills used didn't metabolize, so kids were poopin' pink until the reformulation! Franken Stool...
Wow, good stuff. Always been facinted with American cereal box graphics. We never had those ones downunder. Only generic localized versions. I remember collecting dinosaur cereal figures as a kid.
