You threw a "curveball" which is a lot more inaccurate, but nets a high amount of exp if contact is made. Don't spin the ball next time, just throw. Edit: beat me to it lol ^^^^
i went to a meet up of sorts last night and there were cp700+ pokemon that i woulda missed out on! charmanders jolteons and chanseys galore
SDCC IS GOING TO BE A HOT MESS! Everyone will be hunting and running into each other. As if we need another reason to bump shoulders.
*Sigh* all my geology colleagues talk incessantly about this stupid app! Granted they are all less than half my age (early 20's) and I guess the appeal is Pokemon. I never got Pokemon, Spongebob (another thing they all talk about), Power Rangers or any of that shit. You kids get off my lawn with your fake violent cartoons, well back in my god damn day we had real violent cartoons where characters got killed on screen!
I'm going to hold off on joining a team. So far the only thing that really appeals to me is the collecting. Overall, the game is just so watered down from what it's base was that the game itself is so lacking in depth. Having said that, trying to catch them all is pretty cool. My first notion of pokemon was when it hit the news cause some kids were getting seizures from Pikachu's electricity flashes on TV. If you are prone to epileptic seizures, do not watch this
I joined Team Instinct for two reasons... 1) All the memes I've seen make fun of Instinct, calling them paste-eating children and mentally challenged. I like playing the underdog. 2) Illuminati Zapdos logo.
So where is everyone? I'm level 14 with 61 unique catches! Maybe the craziest thing is that I have walked 40+ KM since downloading it less than a week ago! I've met tons of my neighbors, ran around with kids on my block, taken the long way to work every day, taken a walk every day at lunch, and a long one after work around parks and industrial complexes I never go to (!!) to get different types of dudes haha. I found all these weird monuments and murals right under my nose that I never knew were there. I really love it. I've found myself in groups of teens in shopping center parking lots and city parks. Last night the park near my house was overrun with people out playing. There were probably between 40 and 50 kids in groups of 3 and 4. I love seeing everyone out running around and getting excited together. Last night There were 4 groups of us in a cemetery gathered around someone's grave playing. HA. I felt a little bad, but I didn't make their grave into a gym! For those grumps that don't "get it" its basically a really fun scavenger hunt with gaming components. I took my 1st Gym last night and I felt like a champ (Lost it while I was sleeping though) haha. I also FINALLY caught a PIkachu! LIFE IS GOOD! TEAM MYSTIC FOREVER!
No need to spend money in Philadelphia. View from my desk- Plus-LURES GALORES! (Beathing Gyms though...that's another story!)
Two men playing Pokemon Go fell off a cliff in Encinitas, California, on Wednesday. It is unknown what injuries they sustained, but the men were taken to a trauma center. One of them fell onto a beach about 80 feet below, while the other dropped 50 feet. The game requires users to “catch” different Pokemon creatures at various locations, and the men told rescue officials they had been trying to collect virtual characters.
I want to start playing just so I can lay back here in bed, hit the lure function, and watch the games begin. Play, my little puppets, play.
The incense only works for you, where the lures work for everyone. @foto junkaay is right-you can set incense (for yourself) anywhere. You can only set Lures at Pokestops and they are good for everyone in the area. I saw a lot of stuff on social media encouraging people to set them off at children's hospitals so kids stuck there could play.
I feel like the lures are more effective than incense. Maybe it's just my imagination. Maybe it's because there are more people at the location when the lures are out?
I think it's based on location too. I have two pokestops feet from my house and everytime a lure is used, I still get damn rats and pigeons and venonats! Grrrrr!
@Philpenn I've still be catching them for that reason, but super annoying when they are breaking free and wasting my pokeballs. I really never thought that this game would be considered a first world problem, but apparently it is lol
