Okay, here's a tip... You can hold your phone and NOT look at it, and it'll vibe if you find a Pokemon. OR you can glance at your phone occasionally if you're watching the "nearby" radar. People who stare at their phones nonstop are stupid. There literally is no need to at all. EDIT: ALSO. If you click a Pokemon and go into the catch mode where you throw pokeballs, you can literally go anywhere and it will still be on screen. That means you don't have to stop in the middle of the fucking crosswalk, but can cross the street and THEN stop and catch that Pidgey. IT'S SO EASY FOLKS
^ Yep All that. hahahaha. I think it every time I see a jackass stop in the middle of a crowded street. PULL ASIDE DIPSHIT.
Did you dudes (and dudettes) catch the story of the girl who was crossing a busy street to catch a pokemon, but had her phone down by her side and still got hit by a car.........and went on to BLAME THE GAME for getting hit by a car. She and her mom legitimately went on the news to blame the Pokemon game for getting her hit by a car when she clearly was just not paying attention in general. Thinning of the herd, folks. Move along, nothing to see here...just let it happen.
^ I just saw that. They're saying the game made her cross the street. It's like saying all the First Person Shooter games make people better at using weapons.
...but it's true to a point. I took a pistol permit test and I was an amazing shot. The instructor was impressed. I beat both of the men in the class at marksmanship even though it was our first time ever shooting a gun. But enough derail. I took a 7 mile walk today. My toes are like little balloons. I don't think my laces near the top of my shoe were tight enough, and they were hitting the top of the shoe every step I took. I did get to take my first gym though, saw an old friend from high school that I haven't seen in 6 years, and caught an Oddish/Slowpoke. Hatched an Ekans and an Eevee, and evolved Eevee into Vaporeon. Not too bad.
some girl almost pokemon go'd through a stop sign into the broad side of my fiat this week. I had to make some evasive maneuvers in the rain, triggering a full adrenaline dump. Then I thought she was going to rear end me at the next stoplight, head still down & both hands on her phone. I gave her a loud & clear wtf when she finally looked up from her phone & she starts shaking her head, like I am at fault somehow. I almost died because she couldn't put her fucking phone down & she is seemed completely oblivious as to what just happened. Is there a near death experience unlock or achievement? I know people are playing while driving to rack up km.
Im really looking forward to all the horror stories that come out of this Pokemon app. Im sure ppl are running into all kinds of bad shit playing this. lol
forced eeveelution: 1.rename your eevee's to force them to evolve into desired eeveelution. Pyro-flareon Rainer-vaporeon Sparky-jolteon capitalize first letter!! 2. close out and restart app 3.evolve
I've heard the cutoff is 20mph. If so, they're not logging any distance unless they're straight crawling.
One thing I noticed, while it is great to live in an dense area where stops and gyms are near by, players will never get the bonus for holding a gym. Gyms turn over at least 5 times a day. The flip side, my bag is always full. I actually have to dump items from time to time.
Rad Eevee trick, can't wait to try it. Unfortunately on the biggest Pokéday to date, it's mostly going to be down.
My girlfriend and I were on our way to get some tacos and this girl in front of us is sitting at a red light. She actually MISSES THE GREEN LIGHT continues to sit there and misses a good 3 or 4 more seconds at the next green light while we're sitting behind her blaring our horn and yelling at her to Poke' GO! I love this game but for crying out loud, if you can't actually pay attention to ANYTHING that's going on around you, you really should have your phone taken away. In other news that Mexican place that we went to go get tacos was actually a gym. A delicious, delicious gym.
Been playing this since launch, I've always been a pokemon fan - I even have a pokemon tattoo. Loving this concept thus far and I'm excited to see where it goes from here. Talks about large scale promotional events/battles with legendary pokemon sound exciting.. I'm not on all that much, but I'm happy I've gotten a few of my favourites - scyther, kabuto and lickitung. Heck yes.
I think losing your driving privilege would work out better for everyone. but enough raining on the pokemon go! parade, enjoy responsibly.
Wow... just wow. I went to Sydney last week, at the Sydney Opera House, massive crowds, not quite as "impressive" as this, but huge crowds moving like waves towards spawned pokemon. Kind've creepy really.
Just hatched a Meowth and my girlfriend was losing her mind. She likes cats......she also plays that Neko Atsume game too. She's nuts. I love her.
I'm jealous. One of my eggs hatched today, a bloody zubat. My girlfriend laughed in my face. For hours. She's nuts. I love her.
