I made this ceramic + glass terrarium inspired by Robomecha. I'm still trying to find my way and land on what it is exactly that I want to make. The thing I keep thinking about is how some of the things I'm referencing weren't part of my childhood and aren't part of my culture — I've stumbled into toys and sofubi in adulthood but find them really inspiring. Curious to know what people think about that sort of thing, how do you find your lane, is referencing something outside of your culture a bit awkward?
Made a picture frame in the tramp art style. Bought an old cigar box at goodwill like five years ago, and only now got the tools I needed. (Including a cook japanese saw called a ryoba.) I want to make some more, this was my starter/learning project. I've got a backlog of paintings on paper to frame up, and I'm tired of plain frames from Michaels. Postcard painting by Mike Guerrero
