Here's my updated shot. Sorry for my lame photography skills. I have shaky hands, and a small point and shoot is unbelievably hard to hold steady, also my apt light sucks. Hit or miss with good photos from me: What's cool is the new US Toys magenta Garamon mini is slightly larger than the blue one.
Yeah, he's a standard size about 9.5" vinyl reissue of the old plastic Marusan kit. I've got a regular painted one (blue, green or red, can't remember) somewhere. I think there were only two versions of this one.

That is an absolutely stunning mini set. Is it from a HG/box toy? I would love more info. To tell the truth, the Gary doesn't even do that much for me, but I would adore it just to have the shelf of other toys. I guess I am twisted, but I didn't see him as actually passed out, so a lot of other story lines went through my head.
GREAT pics, Lixx and agvd; agvd, that pic of your Nostalgic Heroes giant is the best shot I've ever seen of that toy... it's one I've always held off on, but that makes me want him! Sleeping toy store Pygmon mini set rules so hard! That's one of those toys, with a diorama that implies such a weird backstory, that utterly confounds (and/or piques the interest of) non-initiates when they look at a sofubi collection...
Thanks. I don't remember much about the Pigmon toy shelf thing other than I bought it new about eight years ago. I'm kind of obsessive about keeping packaging, but don't have anything for it. The only marking is CHINA. Hmm, I always naively thought of him napping without thinking about the rifle on the floor next to him or the rack of pistols on the side of the shelf...
I think that Bandai released that toy; it's based on Pygmon's second and final appearance in the Ultraman series. At the beginning of the episode, the Science Patrol receives a phone call that a monster is throwing a tantrum in a local dept. store. By the time they arrive, a tuckered-out Pygmon is napping at the foot of a large shelf of toys... much sofubi and some wind-ups, I think you can catch Kanegon, Booska and- yes- Garamon. Also, the suit, having been beaten, battered, repainted and reglued several times by that point, is a real horrorshow, understandably serving as nightmare fuel for many younger viewers.
Well, by American standards, I'd say a lot that happened to monsters on Ultraman was harsh... torn-off limbs and shit .... but you're right, to kill off a "cute" (again, depends on your perspective and possibly your age), sympathetic monster, that's a little different...
I always loved the glow vinyl and weird creamy face color on this one, not to mention the fun sculpt...
Yeah, that one's a gem, Jeff! Its Semi-Ningen counterpart is also pretty sweet... I'll tell you, Marmit has had so many Garamon hits... the Parababy version, two different banks, the giant super-frownies, these guys: http://garamania.blogspot.com/2008/06/nerdstrom-collection-pt-7.html... that it still kills me that their one & only attempt at a realistic version (http://garamania.blogspot.com/2008/11/new-marmit-gary-is-here-and-its.html) fell so flat. If that sculpt were a mini, it would be awesome… but as a full-size figure it just feels so… non-committal. I hope they try again in this vein some day!
Just bought this the other day. Hey, agvd did you buy that glow at Toy Tokyo? Went there to buy that glow but it was gone and bought this instead.
