After realizing I was out of my league bidding on a CKA Gorilla, I felt it was time to reflect on simians that I could afford. Post your primates! I searched for this Billiken Gorilla for nearly a year... This was my first real kaiju, a vintage Bullmark Goro (bought in the dirty as hell condition shown in this picture...I've never cleaned it. I love it!)
I'm gonna love this thread... Don't have a group pic of 'em, but will try to get one so I can post. Keep them coming! edit. BTW I love that Billiken!
OMG!! you serious this was your first? I wish I would've been mine!! It's so awesome. Is it a mini, right. I love it. I didn't think I would, but I actually won a Gorilla Ju today...
@ChaosHead; I like your photo style! I never saw that CCP(?) Gorilla up close like that. Creepy looking fellow! Mucho detail. @Axo; yeah, the Goro is only about 3" tall. Please don't tell me you won the purple/yellow Goriila-ju.
Thanks! It's labeled as X-Plus, actually, but I'm no expert. It's huge too, ~14". More proto-human than ape, no?
Well, I thought it was brown and yellow, but givinig it a second look it might be purple... the one with the GID aboriginy. Yes! I won that one!
Great start to this thread, pals. I love all these photos, and Deadbone that Doc Gori is gangbusters!
I need more simians in my collection. The only one I own is the zollmen mg5 kaohead posted already. Too bad most of the ones I desire are elusive (i.e buta kong etc etc). I do notice that the gorilla ju has a similar face as the m1go gaira though... hmmmm
This is actually Gigas from Ultraman. This was my first real kaiju, a vintage Bullmark Goro (bought in the dirty as hell condition shown in this picture...I've never cleaned it. I love it!) [/quote]
Axolotl and Joe: you are killing me!! I am happy you both found that color GJ. It is my numero uno want, but glad someone here found it so I can at least enjoy pictures!
The Gorilla Ju's are as intriguing {to me at least} as the Nagx3 and even harder to obtain too. This is probably not the thread for getting into its fine sculpt and painting execution, but wow! What is the story with the little companion figurine with it? What is the whole story of GJ? I understand it's done by the maker of Bemon, sold at CKA, but what else? Why a Gorilla with the screaming native figure attached?
